This is a very specific question but I read somewhere that the food court at Pop serves marshmallow fluff sandwiches. Is this still true? My brother and I will go nuts if they do. :goodvibes

Not sure of the answer to your question. But do they sell fluff in IL? I thought it was a uniquely New England thing.

To OP - didn't see anything like that at POP last September -- wasn't actually looking for it, but I think we did look at pretty much everything that was available there. I know they did discontinue some of the POP favorites before we got there, because I remember reading a thread about that. Guess there used to be a Twinkie tirimisu that a lot of people liked that's gone. They did still have the tye-dye cheesecake!

Don't think marshmallow fluff is a New England thing...I'm 53 & it's been around in Nebraska since I was a little kid.

We get it here in NY but we also got it where I gre up as a kid in Michigan, so not a New England thing.

A few years ago we had a "Fluffernutter" sandwich on tye dye bread at POP. We just stopped by to look around but the kids wanted the tye dye bread so we got it. It tasted just like you'd make at home (except pretty pricy!) We have not been back since to know if they still have it or not.

Are yal talking about the marshmallow stuff in the jar? Is that marshmallow fluff? We have that here in all the grocery stores in SC..

We definitely have marshmallow fluff in IL! I've been eating it (sparingly) as far back as I can remember. Maybe it originated in New England, though! We mix it with peanut butter and call it fluffernutter, which I suspect many people do. It's okay if Pop doesn't have them, I can always get it in the store! :cutie:

We are here at Pop now... We haven't seen anything like that, BUT we weren't looking either. I'll check at breakfast in the morning and try to get back to you.

I was also at Pop recently and did not recall seeing anything like that, I'm pretty sure one of the kids would have noticed it if they had it...but I could be wrong too.

DH will be the happiest person EVER if he has the ability to have a Fluffernutter sandwich at POP!!!

Marshmallow Fluff is available both in Calif and here in Fl. Just informational.:thumbsup2

No, there's actually a difference. Real Fluff comes in a plastic container. The brand name is Fluff and it's way better than the other stuff in the glass jar. My DS is a fluffernutter fiend. I like the Fluff because it doesn't have gelatin, so it's great if you're a vegetarian:thumbsup2 (not that we are but we don't eat horse hooves if we don't have to:rotfl2: ).

We have Fluff (in the plastic container) in PA- as a matter of fact, I sent my son to school with a Peanut Butter and Fluff sandwich for lunch today!

I grew up in IL. and knew it as the Kraft brand called Marshmellow Creme. When I moved to Maine you can't find the Kraft versions it is Fluff here. Crazy! LOL I am pretty sure they are comparable from what I have tasted, just haven't done a side by side comparison.

Completely random question (sorry if it's considered hijacking!):

How on EARTH do you spread the stuff??? We have it here in NY and I have a jar just sitting in my cupboard because I have no idea how to spread it on bread.... any insight on this dilemma? :rotfl:

I'd LOVE if Pop had those sandwiches because then I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning up the sticky mess - but I could still enjoy the yumminess of a Fluffernutter!!

Doesnt a fluffernutter have fluff, peanut butter and bananas on it? YUMMM :thumbsup2

I do know if you make it ahead of time the fluff, leaks out the side - a real mess if you pack it in the lunches (I've seen kids toss the mess in the garbage!)

It is hard to spread if its old - you have to use it before it gets "stale" or too sticky - when that happens - use it to make fudge!! :goodvibes

One thing I always do when spreading or measuring sticky stuff is spray the knife or whatever first with nonstick spray. Makes everything so much easier!!! ::yes::

It really is hard to spread the stuff! You need really thick slabs of bread, I guess! And I haven't thought to add banana to the mix, but now I'm really craving a fluff, peanut butter and banana sandwich!

Fluff is the worst substance on earth. Difficult to spread, difficult to clean, sticks to everything (not to mention it has zero nutritional value). I wish my daughters had never been introduced to fluff!!!!

So sorry to report that there isn't any Fluff sandwich here at Pop. They do have white and wheat bread, but no fluff for it. Guess you could bring your own...
