A card was dropped into our mail box with just "Marry Christmas" writen on the envelope. I'd thought one of my neighbors had dropped it off instead of mailing it (which is fine with me) and had let their kids address it, hence the spelling errors.

Nope.

It was from one of my adult neighbors and his live in girlfriend. They have no kids!

Now, I'm not the world's greatest speller myself....but "Marry Christmass"???

Oh well, it's the thought that counts. Truely I appreciate that they thought of us!!! But wow!

That is pretty funny...I see lots of misspelled words in my line of work. Most of the time it has to do with the person's diction as to how the word is spelled. For instance, one of my students spelled the word "butter" as "budder".:rotfl2:
Oh and accent has a lot to do with it also.... "frost" is sometimes spelled "frawst"

An adult and his live in!?!? Maybe they are finally going to tie the knot over the holidays and it is really an engagement announcement / christmas card!!

I think it is a Freudian slip related to what goofyrhodie is saying. The writer is thinking marriage and it slipped out onto your card.

I enjoy Freudian slips, that and reading body language!
