it is pretty far from the action. so may sure you have a car.
Try to do a direct exchange with a member there so you can get the free golf. You likely can also get it for cheaper than 270 points. Members and Marriott exchangers get the free golf but unlike Heritage on HH, non member exchangers do not get the free golf is my understanding. It's funny, we've been to Williamsburg many, many, many times starting with our honeymoon some 36 years ago. In all that time, we've never driven in that area that is to the south and west of Route 60. There is a very nice shopping center area back in there with a number of restaurants and a Barnes and Noble also. I would love to play golf at Ford's Colony. I hope we can do an exchange there in a few years (subject to points availabilty of course)
One could likely rent a week there for far less than using DVC points if you have the time but not the points you may be far better off. For Golfers there are a few good deals out there. There are 2 resorts on HH that give exchangers free golf. Marriott's Heritage gives you free for 2 each day with one round at Harbour Town. There's another on HH that I've been told gives 4 rounds per day but I think it's an RCI resort and I forget which one, maybe one of the Spinnaker resorts but I'm just not sure. I've been told both give the free golf to all including non internal exchangers. Generally free golf means you only have to pay for a cart and sometimes a few other fees, esp for prime tee times. Given the cost of golf in HH, one could easily pay for the cost of an exchange this way for those who really enjoy golf. I'm sure there are others, it'd be a good question to ask on TUG.Thanks Dean for the suggestion. It will probably be 2 years before we could do an exchange as all our points are gone with WDW trips for the next two years. But this is something we really want to do in the future.
