Has anyone ever stayed here? I was wondering what your thoughts were and if you have a certain building to recommend. Thanks for any help.

this resort is gorgeous, there is a website that will show you pictures of the resort (just search on the resort name). It is right on the golf course and the Nick Faldo Golf institute is right on the property. The clubhouse at the golf course has a very nice breakfast.
As far as what building, they were all nice, we didn't use the main building that much. This is where they have a store and food, we pretty much went out for dinner. But if that is important to you, ask to be close to the main building we were to the right of the main building near the pool and it was very pleasant.

We stayed there last September (we had the 2br villa) It was beautiful, except they don't have a shuttle to take you to Disney, so you will need a car to drive to the parks. Also, there is only one restaurant on site and a Pizza Hut delivery, so you can either make something in your villa (if you don't mind to cook) or eat off site.
Overall, I wouldn't mind staying there again!:wave2:

We will have a car to get us around :) Thanks for the responses! I have seen the pics and it does look gorgeous. Read that there is some construction going on there. Was trying to figure out if there was a way to not be so close to it.

Hi,

We just returned from MGV. I guess my opinion differs from most and I don't want to stir up trouble but I will be honest and say while this resort was nice, I have stayed in nicer resorts/condos in the area. Since we had one smoker in our party, we were given a room in bldg. 99. The room was in terrible disrepair, with rusted table and curtains which were torn and ripped. It also reeked, and I mean reeked of cigarette smoke. I have to say I was shocked at the condition of this room. Even the smoker in our party couldn't stand the smell. We called the front desk and had them move us to non smoking. We were then placed in bldg. 93, much better. I had called earlier in the day to request a bldg. which had been rehabed but they didn't honor my request. It didn't fit the description I have read here (granite counters, etc.). but it was nice, nothing terrible and I didn't feel like asking to move again. The main thing I didn't care for about this room was that the second bedroom was just like a regular hotel room with a sofabed in place of the second bed and a small fridge and microwave. I guess I knew this ahead of time but pictured it differently. The grounds were nice and also my section of the room with the kitchen area, master bedroom etc., was very nice. I guess it just didn't meet my expectations. I have stayed at the Vistana Villages, Marriott Horizons and the Wyndham Palms and liked all of these better. The elevator also always had a very strong smell of bug spray, yes a little trivial and I know Florida has lots of bugs but I have never noticed this at any other hotel, condo, timeshare I have stayed at in the eleven years I have been visiting. This is just MY opinion but for the price I paid (not cheap, I rented thru Marriott) I would have rather stayed somewhere else. The bottom line is I felt is was a nice resort, nothing terrible but nothing to brag about and I honestly wouldn't stay here again. To answer your question, we visited the new section over the bridge and sat at the pool, I never saw or heard any construction whatsoever.

our room was fine - in building 97 - but the outside was horrible - especially for a Marriott - the managment kept saying it was going to be redone shortly - but is that any excuse for not kepting up now....

the stairs and walkways were never cleaned the whole week we spend there - it was past dirty.....the elevators smelled bad....

so make sure you take some pool shoes - you will probably need them.

we had been twice before here - and the place was very clean - so I think that the management has changed for the worst.....

they don't seem to care about the older building - if you complaint they just tell you when that building will be rehab....

not a good situation! they have rehab all the older building 80 - 87????I think - it is just the 90's that needed work when we were there - this last May!
