Hi, i am planning a trip for May and just got an offer from Marriott for 4 nights at the Marriott's Cypress Harbour Resort for $379. As expected a 90 minute presentation is required. I have read the threads on this resort and see mostly positive information. Should I do this?

Yes - this is a wonderful resort - Marriott salespeople are very low key - unlike Westgate and Fairfield - you get to see a beautiful resort (I think they are selling Marriott's Grande Vista) and get to stay at an even better one.

I'm doing this as well. We also upgraded to a two bedroom and purchased two extra nights. Total was $698 but they give us two disney passes. I've heard nice things about the resort as well.

Guess I should have read the boards before I asked my question since the answer I was looking for is here. I too got the invitation I thought it said 5 nights but I must be wrong. I am staying 16 days and I already have the Vistana Villiages for a special rate of 119 for 4 nights and no tour!! I must be on some list since I took the tour at the LIki Tiki last summer. I have never gotten offers like these before. I bet I can stay in some great places for 16 days for a total of under 1200.oo . I must work on the other 8 days now.

I just noticed that Jeff968 said he had to upgrade to a two room. Mine is for a two bedroom and we get 10,000 Marriott points for what ever that is worth.

Ditto for me -- our offer is for a 2 bedroom!

Enjoy!

I received the invitation to the Vistana Villages first (last May). The offer was $179 for 4 nights, 5 days, with two attraction tickets and a 90 minute tour. I had some problems with this. I called and booked it in May but they wouldn't let me confirm my dates until September. I called again and again after September 1st and they kept telling me the calendar for 2/04 wasn't open yet. Finally, the second week of November, the calendar opened up but they didn't have my dates!!! I wrote a letter to complain and they found my dates and I'm all set. The 2 bedroom upgrade at the Vistana was only $20 per night so I'm under $300 for four nights there.

Then I got the offer from the Marriott in October. Theirs read $199 for 5 days and 4 nights with 2 attraction tickets. This was for the Grande Vista. I called them and told them I needed a two bedroom. They said they would put us in the Cypress Harbor. The two bedroom upgrade was another $199. Then, i was able to add two additional nights as $149 each night for a total of $675. And I have to do the 90 minute tour.

So, I've got 10 nights, two bedrooms, 4 Disney tickets, for under $1000. I think that is pretty good. And that's President's week!!!, a very popular week.

Have you gotten these offers by mail or over the phone?

I received both of them by mail. I'm not sure who's list I'm on. As you can see we have visited a number of timeshare locations. i actually own a timeshare on Cape Cod but I don't think they know that. I'm sure the places will be nice but I don't think I would ever purchase one. I'm usually able to find a 2 bedroom unit rental for around $800. These places usually get that much for the annual maintenance costs alone.
