Marriott World Center to Epcot

I will be attending a conference at the Marriott World Center in February and would like to hop over to Epcot one afternoon. Since I won't have a car, I'll need to take a shuttle or cab? Does anyone know how the shuttle service works from the Marriott or how much a cab costs?

I don't believe that there is Disney shuttle service (or off-property shuttle service of any kind) available from the hotel. There is on-property shuttle service for guests from the adjacent timeshare resorts who use the hotel's impressive facilities.

You can, however, call Mears Transportation to reserve space on one of their shared shuttles and arrange pick-up and drop-off. I think that the cost for the shared shuttles is $15 per person. Or use a taxi - I'd guess the one-way taxi fee would be in the $12-$15 range.

I know the answer to this one. Take a taxi and not the car service from the hotel it is more expensive. I was there in November at a convention and took the taxi to Downtown Disney and then took Disney transportation everywhere. One thing I learned, if I said I wanted the Marketplace they would go to the other side first and vice versa. I often changed my mind and said oh just drop me off here! I saved a few dollars that way.

We learned one lesson the hard way many years ago. My dh was in Orlando for a conference, and I went along with the kids for our first WDW trip. We didn't know a lot back then.

My dh took a cab to meet us one afternoon at Epcot. Not only did he have to pay for the cab ride, but he also had to pay the parking fee when they went through the toll plaza at Epcot. Tell your cabbie to take you to the Beach Club instead. From there you can easily walk to the IG and avoid any possible add'l parking charges.
