OK we are planning our April trip and I need to know everything about the Marriott World Center, got a great rate of $85 for a standard and $105 for a pool view. I know NOTHING about this place and the search is unavailable.

How far to Disney? How are the "standard" rooms? I saw you have to pay $5 to park, is that daily? Should I suggest a certain area?

All info will be sooo helpful!

Thanks!

We stayed there in 2001 so my review might be a little dated. Parking was no charge when I was there but it is a good hike from parking to room. Rooms were very nice and seemed a little more spacious than a typical hotel room. Pool area is excellent for kids. Five minutes to get to Disney. We liked it and we won it on priceline for a bid of $75.

they charge their guest for parking????

WDW is not that bad and they have a great bus system.

Universal hotel is the only one that I knew that did this....Is this a new thing for Orlando hotel's????

I have stayed there several times in the last 3 years.

One of my favorites. Yes, guest parking is $8/day for the garage, for hotel guests. There's a continuous shuttle from the parking garage to the main entrance. Never more than a 5 minute wait.
Supoosedly there's free parking lot around back, I never could figure out how to get to it.

The rooms are std Marriott quality (business class 4*) and I wouldnt pay extra for a pool view. The hotel common areas have many eating choices, a starbucks in the main lobby, several restaurants and a very good upscale breakfast buffet, and a great seafood buffet Friday nights. Take a ride up and down the glass elevator. it's a good free thrill.

The pool is one of the top 3 among offsite pools in Orlando, perhaps bested only by Hyatt Grand crypress and JW marriott.

The staff is quite adequate.

Overall, you'd be hard pressed to do better for $85.night. For some perspective to similar hotels, Gaylord Palms by comparison, is not as good, overall, due to it's woefully plain pools and very pricey onsite restaurants. HRGC and JW M may be nicer, but are considerably more expensive.

Where did you find that rate, if you don't mind me asking? We want to stay there the end of April.

Is there bus service to the parks, and how is the pricing on the room service?

IheartMickey,
I just got the $85 per night rate this week for a stay in 13 days. I got it from Priceline. It was a gamble, but it was the resort I wanted since I'll be there for a conference anyway.
There is shuttle service. I think it's $11 roundtrip to Disney, free to Universal Studios and SeaWorld. My hubby and I will be going 3 times to WDW... I dread paying $66 for shuttle service. Ouch! However, renting a car will probably be more expensive... On site parking fees and all.

I'd live to know about the eating options near this hotel. Can anyone give us some idea what there is to walk to?
Thanks!
