Which Marriott vacation club is the nicest? Last year I was suppose to stay at the Cypress Harbour but when we arrived the place was dirty and run down so I know I don't EVER want to stay there. However, I love Marriott hotels but am looking for a something spaceous for my family of 4 plus my 2 parents.

Any experience with other Marriott villa's? Just wondering which is the best in your experience...

TIA

Sounds like you got a nonrefurbished room at Cypress Harbour. I've never had a bad experience at Cypress Harbour. Too bad you couldn't have been moved to a different unit, because most of Cypress Harbour has been redone and is quite nice. Were they full or something and couldn't change it for you?

I have family at Grande Vista right now and they've had to be changed from an old musty nonrenovated room to a different unit. The 2nd room is fine. But the first one was not acceptable. So a bad room can happen anywhere. We've even had it happen at a Disney resort.

Marriott Royal Palms has been renovated recently (from what I heard) but it is an older Marriott resort.

From my experience, the Disney and Marriott Vacation club resorts have high occupany rates and the units really take a beating from the heavy traffic.

The newest Marriott Vacation Club resort in Orlando is Horizons, followed by Grande Vista, Cypress Harbour, and then the palm Marriotts at the Word Center- Royal, Sabal, and Imperial. Sabal is supposed to be refurbished sometime this year. Horizons has a new building under construction right now. Until that one opens, Building 28/29 is the newest at Horizons. Horizons is great if you have younger kids who like to swim - Horizons has pirate themed pools with slides. Take a look at trip advisor for pictures of any of the Marriott resorts.

Cypress Harbor is just completing renovations. I doubt you would still find it run down. Horizons is the newest and may be the best for young children. Grande Vista is also great, though if you get an unrenovated unit there, you may also think it is run down. With your family size, you may want a 3BR unit, if so Grande Vista and Imperial Palms (at World Center) are your only choices.

We just got back from Grand Vista. It was very nice. The room we stayed at was obviously a time share promotional room. It was clean and well kept but probably not the most up to date room. We stayed at Horizons last month. It was very nice as well. It is a much smaller resort than Grand Vista. My parents loved it so much they bought one. If I had to choose between Grand Vista, Crypress or Horizon, I would choose Horizon. It has a great pool complex as well as a putt putt course. It is not so big so its eaiser to get around.

Cypress Harbor is our favorite of the vacation villas. It is a beautiful resort and we've stayed there 4 times. We are trying Horizons next year.
