I received a phone call last night from someone at the Marriott Vacation Club International stating that because I am a Marriott Rewards member, I am entitled to a discounted stay at one of two properties. I believe they were called (forgive my lack of memory) Cyprus Villiage or a property at the Sea World gate.
I asked if this was a timeshare deal and they said yes, but a presentation was not necessary, staying on the properties and being a "guest" of Marriott was all we had to do. They also will throw in 4 one day passes to the theme park of my choice.

Does anyone know which properties I speak of? (The phone call was kind of a blur) Are they nice? Good for a family of 5?

I can tell you sometimes this trip planning makes my head spin!!!

Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

HH,

It could be a number of properties. They only property with Cypress in it is Cypress Harbour. This is a timeshare property close to Sea World. Every room is a two bedroom with a full kitchen, balcony, etc. The only name with SeaWorld in the name itself is Renaissance Inn Orlando/SeaWorld International Center. This is a hotel! I don't know if I would want to stay in one room in a hotel with five people for any length of time. If they said a time share near the SeaWorld gate then it could be Grande Vista or even Horizons by Marriott -- both timeshares. The only other thing with the word GATE in it is the Renaissance World Gate. From what I understand, this is just a very ordinary hotel close to Disney. I've heard the Renaissance SeaWorld has more amenities and is more upscale.

By the way the thing was pitched, it doesn't sound like Marriott. While Marriott is low key, they do require a 90 minute timeshare presentation. Did they give you a number to call back? If so, I would check the number is actually a Marriott. You don't want to give a credit card to just anyone.

Hi we stayed at Horizons (Marriott property) which is very close to Sea World, and across the street was another Marriott property. I would call and see what the rate is. The timeshare tour was not required, but we decided to take it because we really loved the place.
