We have never stayed in a non Disney hotel before and next weeks trip is to ensure that we like the idea for our planned trip over Christmas

1. As this is a "village" is it the same as staying in a hotel or DCR - do they provide cleaning, towels, tea towels, washing up liquid + cloth etc

2. is it easier to drive to the parks rather than use the buses - we will have AP's so parking will be free

3. anything else that we might forget ?

Thanks for any replies and tips

Hmmm, cleaning does not necessarily take place every day as they are timeshares, but you will be provided with towels, shampoo, soap, washing powder, everything you need (plus there is a shop on site too).

Personally the car is a great option because you are in control, but if you want to take a bus, it is timetabled so you know exactly when it is due.

Have a great time at our resort. Personally I much MUCH prefer staying at the MVCI than the Disney resorts (the only exception being the DLH).

Also, be sure to take some of your fav CDs and DVDs if you think you are going to have time to spend at your villa.

I think we had cleaning every day but certainly it was several times durning the trip.
There was a basket with samples dishwasher powder etc on arrival.
You will have a great time there as it is a lovely place.

We have always paid a nightly rate for the resort (ie not timeshare) and had cleaning every day:thumbsup2

We've never taken a car but If you have one it's not much of a journey and would give you a bit more flexibility. The bus is very reliable.

They do leave dishwasher and washing tabs but I usually take a few extra as the shop is a bit expensive .

They also leave some filter coffee and teabags but again I like to take a few extra of those too.

All towels are provided and you can pick up ones at the pool for swimming with which saves packing them too :thumbsup2

I'd recommend buying fresh croissants in the morning from the marketplace or the bakery in the village (about 5 to 10 mins away)
