We're planning a November trip, and I'm debating between Marriott Grand Vista, Marriott Cypress Harbor and the Sheraton Vistana Villages. We will be spending most of our time at US/IOA, Sea World and a day at
Magic Kingdom. Our boys are 15 and 12, and I was
wondering about the differences between the two
Marriott resorts. Is one of them nicer or newer?
We stayed at the BWV for our last trip to Disney and
had a great time. I'm ready for an offsite stay....
something different...Thanks for any info!!:jester: :jester:

Friends of ours just got back from CH and had a great time there. A lot of resort-type activities there if you want to take a day off from the parks. They were able to successfully get out of taking a timeshare tour with no hassle from the staff about it. We're going to Royal Palms in a few weeks, and I'll be sure to do a trip report on that!
One of my co-workers said the Vistana Villages are great also, and judging from the reviews I've read of GV, I don't think you can go wrong at any of those 3 places.

If you're going to spending a lot of time in the Universal area, why not try Hard Rock Hotel and get front of the line access for the two parks there. HRH also has a shuttle to SW.

Thanks for the info!! Hercamore...as a matter of fact, I was thinking of booking 3 nights at HRH and 4 at one
of the other resorts I mentioned......:)

Hi there! Grand Vista is newer than Cypress Harbour. We've stayed at CH and Royal Palms and toured Grand Vista when it was still being built. We had a blast at CH. They had a band at the pool and games for the kids at the pool. My kids also went to the kids club they had there and did some arts and crafts one afternoon, (I see your kids are older though). There was a pizza shop near the pool that we ate from that was good. CH is built in an "Old Florida", Key West style buildings. The property is lovely and the villa was very nice, spacious and well decorated. My only complaint was that we were a good hike from the main pool so we would pile into the car and drive there. GV was beautiful!! It is done in a mediterranean style with red tile roofs. The villas were lovely as well and the pool area was really nice, but more "adult" and formal looking than CH. Lots of colums as I recall. But there was a "splash" area between the pools, you know where the water sprays up from the ground for the kids to play in.
Both GV and CH are very convenient to Sea World . We did not go to Universal, but if iI recall , it was not too far up International Drive.

Royal Palms is the oldest of the three, but we enjoyed our stay there. The best part about RP is that it is on the grounds of the MOWC which has a GREAT pool with fun slide. We spent many afternoons at the pool there. RP has its own pool, but no slide.

WE have always been very happy with the quality of the Marriot villas. I would not hesitate to stay at any of them. Check out the pictures on the website www.vacationclub.com ( I think?). That should help your decision.

Sorry for the random thoughts in this post! I was typing as I was remembering!! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks Princess dot for your reply!!! It was very
helpful...I did look at the pictures at the Marriott
website, and I was kind of leaning toward Cypress
Harbor. There is a new one opening soon called
Marriott Horizons. It might even be open by now!
That looks nice too...Thanks again........
