What is this resort like? How accessible is it to WDW? We are staying there in January for a convention and hopefully will spend alot of time on the WDW property. Is it in walking distance to DD?

What is this resort like? - It is a very large resort that caters to a lot of convention and business travel. There is a very nice pool area with water falls and slide, a fitness center/spa, tennis courts, and golf course. Very clean and modern.

How accessible is it to WDW? - There is a shuttle bus available for additional cost. I'm not sure how much or how often, I'm sure other will post. If you'll have a car, I recommend driving because you are right on the main road into WDW and very close to all the parks.

Is it in walking distance to DD? - NO! If you ask for a room facing DD, you can see the DD and most of the evening fireworks, but you definately need to drive, bus, or cab over.

We stayed at MOWC last April on a Priceline bid ($65/night) and had a great time. Staff was nice, pool was excellent, and room/bed was comfortable.

The only drawback was the parking. If you stay in the main tower, there are limited spaces in the front lots and you may have to park in the main garage structure. This is a real hike to and from but they do have a shuttle available. I think valet was about $10 bucks a night but I could be wrong.

Except for that, I highly recommend this Marriotts.

Jumping back in to add...Try doing a search for MOWC, you should be able to pull alot of previous reviews and info on this resort. Do it one board at a time though or you'll get swamped. Search orlando hotels & budget board first for best results. TTFN

The MOWC is an awesome property. You will have a great stay. And while you are not within walking distance, you are literally 5 minutes or less driving from DD and the entrance to EPCOT.

We stay here every time we go to WDW. We usually stay in the villas which are right next to the hotel, but we have also stayed at the hotel, it is very nice. The rooms are quite large.

I hope you have a good trip.

I am also a big fan of the MOWC. So much so I wrote the company after my trip to tell them so.

It is a very large hotel and can be seen from most of the Disney area. The pools, there are 6 or 7, are awesome. It is a mostly convention hotel but that didn't bother me at all. My son and his friend, both 7 when we went, loved it!

I, too, got this hotel by bidding for a 4 star on Priceline for $65 a night. Quite a deal!

I love this place!! I got the bid on Priceline too. I believe mine was like $54 or something like that. I wasn't sure what to expect- but boy was this nice! We had great parking- I think we stayed in what they call the north tower. I requested it after reading up on it- I learned that they have a great close parking area just outside from the tower. It really is hard to explain, but trust me- I saved our legs a walk. If you really want to know- I could fax you a little hand drawn picture of what I mean. :) But I think it is called the north tower. Request it- it is worth it. What an awesome hotel!! I would definatley stay there again. If you have any more ?'s feel free to ask.:bounce:

We stayed at MOWC for our first night last December (Priceline bid of $55). It is a very nice, large property. We stayed in the north Tower, 19th floor room with a balcony and a wonderful view of WDW (Downtown Disney, Epcot, and MGM were very visible). Had turndown service and a nice little care package even though our stay was for only one night. The pool area is gorgeous.

The north tower has a parking lot kinda behind the hotel that is very convienent. The hotel is very near WDW, just a short drive down the road.
