Marriott hotels to go non-smoking!

People will just cheat and smoke in all the rooms. I would rather have them segregated to the dirty rooms in the hotel with the pets. What about the bars? I guess they'll be non-smoking, too.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn where the entire floor had been alloted for smoking. It didn't seem to permeate the rest of the hotel. I thought it worked but what do I know.

Oh well, no Marriotts for us in the future. And yes, I can smell smoke. Its my DH that smokes not me.

I heard this on the radio this morning and wondered how quickly it was going to take to have a thread on the Dis.

I work at a local marriott and thats exactly what we would do if all the smoking rooms are sold out. We have about 15 smoking rooms. Which are on 1 side of the hotel on 1 floor but not the whole floor. So if we had a smoking room left we would move you. If none... well you have to please the guest. Right or wrong. Me im very pleased that we will go to all non smoking. Makes it much easier because 95% want non smoking i would say.

Smokers are going to smoke anyway. There's no way to enforce this and Marriott probably knows that. This is good PR though.
