Thanks for supplying that link. I too will be staying the first week at the resort and was a little apprehensive. We have chosen to stay here due to a time share promotion but upgraded to the one bedroom. I am hoping that we will be able to work in a few days of disney as that will be our first visit also. Any tips will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Just back from a 3BR last week. We were a group of 7 with two married couples, two toddlers and one adult single. Did not feel cramped at all. Set up was a little different from what I expected based on the floorplan on the website link above (in a positive way). The "lock off area" is actually a separate one bedroom efficiency. To get to it you had to cross through a vestibule outside the main (two bedroom) unit and use a key for the door. Was definitely a positive in terms of privacy for the couple over there, but hassling with the doors was a bit of a pain.

Main pool was pretty nice with waterfalls and one of those interactive fountains, but a bit crowded. Didn't try the smaller "quiet pools" scattered around the property but I've heard that they're more relaxing. Marketplace wasn't what I was expecting. I was picturing more of a food court, but it's actually more like a small convenience store and a separate windo that serves Pizza Hut pizza and Edy's ice cream. Good news for you is that they do serve Starbucks!

Our actual unit was beautifully furnished and housekeeping was excellent. Grounds were beautiful. There was a playroom with balls that we didn't end up using but looked great for kids. Paddle boats also looked fun although we didn't try.

I'd also be happy to answer any questions you have.

Did you see the new pool area or a picture? We leave in a few weeks and would love to know what it looks like.

Saw an artistic rendering of the new pool area which looked quite nice. Could see the construction in the distance from the bridge crossing the lake, but didn't really try to get close enough to see. I was surprised to hear this would be opening in June (we were there last week) as the construction seemed very much still in progress.

I too will be staying here the first week of June... sure hope the pool is open... We are actually attending a 90 minute timeshare presentation. Has anyone attended one, as this is our first and would welcome any info. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you doing timeshare presentations, did you get a better rate? Do you mind sharing what you're paying and how you got it? I looked into this resort but couldn't find much availalbe.

Thanks,

I loved the Marriott Grande Vista.

I got a deal last year through my sister in law, who owns with Marriott. She gave my name as a contact, and they did contact me with a deal of 4 nights for $279. We took advantage of this, and a time-share presentation was required. It was extremely low pressure, we went on the tour, he ended at 90 minutes and we were on our way. We set it up for the earliest available time, and took off for the parks having had coffee and breakfast in a great facility. We kept our two small girls with us, and they even enjoyed riding in the golf cart to the unit.

The unit we stayed in was tremendous, beautiful, luxurious, etc. I requested a particular section based on what I'd read in these boards, and it was accommodated down to the "quiet pool" view.

I, personally, cannot say enough good things about this resort. It is an easy drive to the parks as well.
