All the posts I have seen about this resort appear to be about the villas. Has anybody seen, or better yet stayed in a guest room? We ( me, DH, DS9, DD6)are considering this option (using points) for our October trip. I would love a villa, but it is a lot more points. Our other option is one of the Fairfield Inns, Residence Inns, or Sprinhill Suites in the area. These would include breakfast, which is a nice perk, but Grande Vista sounds like a great property overall. Any suggestions?

If it were me, I'd go for at least a one bedroom. That way,the kids would sleep it the living room and you and yours could sleep in the master bedroom, which is well worth it.

HarryO--How was your trip to the MGV?? Someone reported that they had some problems here recently. Please tell me a little about your stay and also, how was the new pool area?

If you can use points and have enough, the 1 bedroom villa is the best option. The guest room would have a king bed and a sleeper sofa, 1 tv, microwave, minifridge, toaster and 1 bath.
The 1 bedroom villa has a full kitchen, DR,LR, large balcony, w/d, master bath with jaccuzi. If you have the points, the 1 bedroom is more than double the room.

We just came back from a nine day stay at MGV and I have to say our villa was perfect, brand new in fact. We stayed in one of the new buildings in the the new west village section. I was told that they are 50% done refurbishing all the villas. They are changing all the villas over to the new decor and furnishings, granite kitchen countertops. Have to say they are beautiful. The new pool area is very nice also with a outside bar and grille.

Harry, I was going to request the new section but thought there would be lots of construction going on and it would bother my family, was there? Otherwise I will probably request bldg. 80 due to its close proximity to everything and due to a smoker in our party. Any details about the new pool, pictures? I can't wait for our stay here.

There is construction going on but it didn't bother us. I do have a couple of pics of the new pool but I have no idea how to post them here.

I happen to like these studios.

lots of room - king bed and a queen sleeper sofa - plus the balcony is full size.

they are very nice!!!

not vcr - and not whirlpool tub in the room.

be prepared to wash the dishes before you use them.....

that is the only problem - the maids don't wash these dishes (no dish washer) -

you get dishes - not the paper stuff that DVC resorts have.

one other problem - there is no a ice maker in this whole resort.....
so all the ice is from the very small under the counter refrigerator....this could be a big problem depending upon your season - of course you could easily store enough water in the refrigerator for your group - but I like ice!!!!

Spicycat,

When we were at the Grande Vista, we were told that you could get a complimentary bag of ice from the Marketplace every day.

We have had two wonderful trips there, because my parents are owners of a 3 bedroom unit.
