Okay previous cruisers, I need your help here. I've just been told that if I do my vow renewal on the Wonder, my only option is to have it in The Cadillac Lounge.

I'm *really* unhappy about the thought of getting married in a bar, but at this point I'm told that if I want to have my ceremony at the Cay I'd have to divorce my husband first and remarry him. Nice Fairy Tale, eh?

So, since I've never actualy seen this place, the thought occurs to me that I'm just over reacting and I need to take a pill. This is where y'all come in.

If you have pictures of this Lounge, or if you can tell me that it's the most wonderful, classic, elegant setting and you'd happily marry there. Please let me know!!!

The Cadillac Lounge is small but lovely! There are large porthole windows along one side and the decor is dark and elegant. There are "sparkling" skyline murals on the opposite walls and a raised platform with a piano.

I think you'll find it an appropriate place for a vow renewal ceremony. :)

Of the Lounges it is the nicest and least club like of the 3 night clubs. It has large portholes (large enough to sit in) Plush seating. It does have part of an old ( or look alike) over the bar but not too bad. Not bad for a renewal of vows.

It is a nice room, just don't concentrate too much on the bar area. The front of a cadillac goes the length of the bar. The other three sides are very classy, though. As everyone has already said. I'll look for some pictures, but the only pictures will be (propably) the silly car behind the bar.

OK, but don't freak out. On page 26 of the DCL 2002-2003 Vacation brochure is a picture of just the bar area. Remember, the other three sides are beautiful and less "in your face".

Hope this helps.

Someone tell me they have a better picture of the rest of the room.

I have some serious soul searching to do on this one.

Getting Married in the Cadillac Lounge? Isn't that a country song?? ;)

I don't know if this will make you feel any better. Even if they allow you to have your vow renewal at Castaway Cay, YOU WILL STILL BE BY A BAR.....THE HEADS UP BAR.

The Cadillac Lounge is nice for a vow renewal and you will save over $2K by doing it there.

Our renewal is on the Magic in Sessions in 4 weeks. When I first started looking into the renewal they didn't offer anything onboard so our only choice was Castaway Cay. While we were on the Magic in 2000 there was a couple getting married on CC and it looked beautiful. But, the more I thought about it and realized the possibility of not being able to have it at all due to bad weather. Or that our children probably wouldn't want to spend the first few hours at Castaway Cay dressed in a tux and gown, they'd rather be in the water, I backed away from that idea.

When I heard about the renewal onboard with the captain performing the ceremony I was very interested. Sessions (or Cadillac on the Wonder) did seem to bother me at first until I really thought about how elegant it is. It does make sense as you will have a piano player providing music during/after the ceremony, plus it will be very private. You will not be hindered due to weather or have to worry about a small child disrupting things with yelling or crying as they pass by. And you will not have a barrage of sight seers onlooking. It does seem like a good choice for such a special occasion.

A few weeks ago I decided to do a little research and see what the other cruiselines offer in the way of vow renewal packages. I couldn't find anything which came close to what Disney is offering. Their packages were sorely lacking in one way or another. The other lines prices were very close to what FTW is charging but I feel certain the level of service which Disney will provide for this once in a lifetime experience cannot be matched.

Good luck with your plans. I've had a great time planning ours. I received our renewal itinerary yesterday so it's finally becoming reality with only 4 weeks to go.

Renee,

You make a really good point about the weather and onshore weddings. I had considered doing the Dolphin Encounter Wedding in Nassau, and took that into consideration. For some reason it just didn't occur to me that there could be the same issue at the Cay.

I'm just so concerned about everything being special. The first time around it was just us at the court house. Maybe I'm just worrying to much.

Thank you for your comments. Please let us know how your vow renewal goes!! I'm very interested in hearing about it!

Thank you so much for this link!

Well, though it still doesn't look like the ideal setting to me, it's not all that bad either. And since we'll be marrying at 4pm in December there should be some nice lighting too.

You and me both. Our wedding (20 years ago) was a house wedding. This will be my first actual wedding dress. I couldn't imagine it being more special than this....on the Magic with our two children (ages 10 and 7) as our maid of honor and best man.

I'm assuming you've not been on either of the ships? If you haven't you're in for a real treat. It is like the Grand Floridian on water. It's exquisite.

I'll definitely be posting a trip report. In the meantime, if you have any questions please just ask.
