Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

We left off with a sleeping Henry rolling along in his stroller as we slowly left Animal Kingdom.

We took the bus back to the Boardwalk

and Henry continued to sleep for a while. Joe and I just relaxed, I am 99.9% I was on the DIS. He he.

When Henry woke up we continued to just lay around,

we watched a bit of Stacy and then made our way down to the quiet pool.

I wasn't in the mood for swimming, so I pulled up a lounger with the iPad and could reach the wireless internet we had going in our room! I loved that!

It wasn't terribly warm out, so it wasn't too long before we all warmed up for a few minutes in the hot tub. Henry LOVES hot tubs, much to my dismay. I get so nervous and worry - and it's not exactly easy to reason with a three year old on why he can't go in the "warm pool".

By this time our stomachs were growling and Earl of Sandwich was calling our names. So back up to the room to clean up a bit and soon we were on our way. When we went back through the lobby the Boardwalk CMs had just blown up some balloons, which were free to take, so I grabbed one for Henry, which brought a giant smile to his face! I love that there are almost always free balloons at the Boardwalk, it's a fun little touch!

When we got outside we could see the DTD bus at the stop, so we started to run - and Joe completely took out a traffic cone they had set up in the middle of the walkway, which sent me into a fit of giggles. The poor color blind man couldn't see the neon orange traffic cone because, believe it or not, it's the same shade as the cement! Thankfully the driver took pity on this crazed family with a Mom laughing to the point of tears on her cheeks, and waited for us - we boarded the bus at 6:20 PM and by 6:30 we were at DTD! Super quick ride!

When we rolled up Henry spotted, and shouted, "LEGO STORE!" from the bus. The kid doesn't miss a beat when it comes to Legos!

As we entered into the Marketplace, we stopped for a few minutes at the fountain

Henry got a little brave and would run across the fountain when all the sprays would go off - he had fun dodging them and only got slightly hit once. I was glad, because while it wasn't cold out, it wasn't warm either.

We eventually pulled him away from the mesmerizing fountain and rolled up to

Yum, yum, we love this place!

Henry and I shared this

Peanut butter & jelly

Mine: The Original without cheese.

Joe's: Ham & swiss

Just before we left for this trip I was reading someone's TR and they said they tried the brownie dessert here and had a picture. They RAVED about it. And while I'm not a huge chocolate person, I just had to give it a try, knowing that Joe and Henry could help me eat it.

1211176008_FKYNd-L.jpg

Well...Joe and Henry didn't get much that! OH.MY.GOSH. So, so, SO good! And they serve Kona blend coffee here as well-this brownie, paired with a cup of coffee on a cooler evening = bliss. This was not the last time I had this combo either. And the #1 reason I want to go back to EoS next week!! The Strawberry Shortcake from Sunshine Seasons has some stiff competition with this baby. I cannot decide which one I like more. I might as well make sure I get both! LOL

After dinner, we, of course went to the

1211177130_xnZVk-L.jpg

Henry had been ITCHIN' all dinner long to get here! I was pretty impressed with the size of this temporary store, and I really look forward to seeing the new one! Henry will be in Lego Heaven!

Inside Henry found something he wanted, but I suggested a bigger piece that was more for your dollar, but he stood firm on what he wanted no matter how much I suggested he purchase another one. I was very proud of him for making a decision and sticking to it!

1211178213_y4htr-L.jpg

Next up was Once Upon a Toy, I wanted to purchase some more Mr. Potato Head parts. The dump trucks on the sign were beeping and dumping - I LOVE that they do this, it's such a neat little extra touch!

1211179163_tSbDe-L.jpg

Henry and Joe went off to look at things while I stuffed a box. I managed to get 27 pieces inside!

On our way out of DTD, when we walked past the Rainforest Cafe Henry noticed the elephant shooting water, and then would stop.

1211184768_BKYvM-L.jpg

So we started a game, he would shout "GO" and the elephant would start. Joe and I figured out the timing, so we'd prompt Henry when to tell the elephant to spray. It was cute, and Henry truly thought that elephant was obeying him. So cute and innocent, I love it!

And I had to get one of these pics!

The bus ride back to the Boardwalk was quite long due to all the stops, but I had a great conversation with a gal that was in the Princess 1/2 Marathon. By this time in the trip I had already had so many conversations on the buses-more than usual. It was fun meeting people from all over!

Back in our room, Henry eagerly started to play with his new toys.

And here are all the pieces we got this time, minus the Potato Head, which we had brought from home knowing we would purchase more parts:

My notes read: "It's been an awesome day." It was just one of those really fun, magical days - we didn't do anything special, nor was any big pixie dust spread on us, but it was just good.

After we put Henry down for bed, I was tired too - I laid down in bed with the iPad and watched a movie on Netflix streaming. Joe went back to the hot tub, I was sound asleep by the time he got back.

I forgot to post these earlier:

Love the characters in their safari gear!

Up Next: What a great idea....or not!

what a wonderful day! And I seriously need to eat at EoS on my next trip, I have never ate there! All these food pictures are making me hungry!!

I never knew you could get potato head parts!!! My boys will love that!!:thumbsup2

What a nice way to end the day!

That dessert looks amazing!! I'm glad to hear the bus ride to DTD wasn't too bad - that's the same experience we had when I stayed at BWI & rode the bus to DTD with my friend Laura. I've budgeted cab fare for the ride back to BWV in November.

What a super end of the day, Brook.

It amazes me how many little kids like a hot tub. Our oldest hated it, but our youngest loved it more than the pool.

I cannot wait to try EOS next month. I'm going with that ham and cheese that Joe had.

I love the picture of Henry sitting on the balcony with his feet up "just chillin."

If I don't get back here, have a GREAT trip and don't forget -- lots of pictures of OKW for me. And thank you. :goodvibes

Oh man, that temporary Lego store, with that big Yellow tent...I walked in and immediately had to walk back out. I think I lasted all of 30 seconds. Since everything was shaded yellow it was making me goofy!!!

Have a wonderful time!! :yay::yay::yay:

Thank you! It hasn't fully hit me that we leave TOMORROW.:banana:

EoS is awesome! I love WPE too, but EoS is nice, simply, tasty food. Don't be intimated by the long line-it moves pretty quickly.

And yes! At Once Upon a Toy (as well as a few places within the parks, I know at AK they have it-Chester & Hesters, and they used to have it at the big gift shop in ToonTown) you can stuff a box! It's about $20 and a lot of fun. They have so many unique pieces.

What a nice way to end the day!

It is SO long! Ugh! All the stops get old when you are tired and just wanting to be home. We were on a Disney high, so it didn't phase us that night...but I can't say I always felt that way. Cabbing it to DTD is not a bad idea at all.

Exactly! Henry would much rather sit in the hot tub than the pool! :headache: I think he's probably at the age where he will get it a bit more, so I'll be reasoning with him again this trip about it I'm sure.

Isn't that a cute pic of Henry? He did that totally unprompted too! :cutie:

And thank you! I promise to bring back TONS of pics! I am really looking forward to experiencing OKW!

First, have a great trip Brook and family!

Regarding the update, I laughed out loud at your description of Joe taking out the traffic cone. That must have been hilarious! I can imagine the bus driving was thinking "well if that guy wants to catch my bus that bad, I'd better wait." :rotfl:

"Brownie dessert" at EOS is being filed away in my super high-security Disney planning vault. Which means, I hope I don't forget.

Man, that Lego store looks big.

What a FUN day!! You had a little of everything - perfect!!

And you leave TOMORROW!!! Woo hoo!!! Have a GREAT time!!

Have a wonderful time Brook!! Make sure you learn a lot for those clients of yours.:goodvibes

I truly hope that we have a couple of these days in October. No rushing around, being able to take things in and enjoy the details.

Who am I kidding? I go to WDW with a commando in tow!:rotfl2:

First of all have a FABULOUS trip!!!!!!

I love following along on this trip, so I am going to PM you my facebook info so you can add me as a friend!!!!

Wow you got so many Potato Head parts! That is something my girls are really looking forward to next month!

What an awesome evening brook. Henry is just too cute with his lego store comment!

Love EOS - sooooooo good!

Have a great trip!

Have a great trip! We visited 4 years ago this same week and had the best trip ever, truly my favorite! The weather was hot, but I thought the crowds were not bad at all! Can't wait for updates

First off :woohoo: on going to Disney World tomorrow!!!

Great update - I love the pictures of Boardwalk and Henry looks so happy with his balloon! :cutie:

Lol at the bus story - am glad the bus driver waited for you. I have also heard about that Chocolate Brownie at EoS and can't wait to try it popcorn:: Will def have to make sure I combine it with the coffee as well.

Have a great trip!!

Uhhh YUM! That brownie looks scrumptious! Every single TR I read has people raving about one thing or another at EOS! I must get there this trip, no if's and's or but's!
27 pieces for the potato head is pretty good! I love those boxes. They make me wish I had kids because I can't justify buying one for myself
What a nice relaxing day. :)

I'm drooling over you EOS! I have 1 moth and 11 days before I can taste the yumminess!
I've never bought potato head parts, do the y charge by the box or piece? Kadence does need a few pieces to complete her Toy story family.

What a wonderful day!

I love that you have mickey stickers stuck haphazardly all over your sweatshirt! I end up looking like that by the end of almost every Disney day also. Maybe our boys have a future in fashion design! :rotfl:

EoS looks so yummy, I could go for a sandwich, or brownie right about now!

Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you everyone! TOMORROW, TOMORROW!!!!!

You goin' somewhere? :)

What a life! I can picture you guys just hanging out on that balcony watching the world go by. :cool2:

And this one came on the Photopass CD, but it's so cute, I had to share!
