Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Continued from previous post

On the way back to our room Henry tripped in the hallway and was crying. He also needed a diaper change (so glad to be done with that!). And naturally...OUR KEYS DIDN'T WORK! Ugh. It was strange to me that they worked in the door to get into the building (BLT is completely locked), but not our door. Sooooo....I went down to the lobby while Joe handled Henry. I think I had a diaper in my bag, so they went to the public restroom on the main floor, which I recall ended up being another fiasco for some reason. Our perfect little morning went to shambles in 2 seconds!

In the lobby they said our keys were fine, but our door needed to be reprogrammed. I waited for the Door Reprogramming Dude and we went to our room, he was SUCH a nice guy - pure Disney right there. He does Mickey's voice for Henry and Henry just loves him. In seconds flat he had the door fixed and we were inside. Whew!

It was such a nice day we wanted to take advantage of that pool!

Joe and Henry headed down to the pool while I took a little more solo time in the room. Apparently Henry went down the little slide over and over again, but then turned upside down on it and got scared and refused to go again. :guilty:

The boys played while I lounged.

My view from a lounger

While Henry dug in the sand (you know he was doing that right?!) Joe and I chilled and soaked in the sun. I remember noticing I had a tan line from my shoes, HA! and I remember posting to Facebook something like "Sometimes it's really great to do nothing." And it was at that moment.

I have no idea how long we were down there, but we eventually peeled Henry away even though he declared he was not tired and we went back to the room for a nap. He was asleep in seconds.

Around 4 PM we left our room to monorail over to Epcot - we had a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo that we were very much looking forward to!

Love the updates Brook! Especially now that you are at BLT:cool1::cool1:My favorite. We had such a great time there and I want to go back sooooo bad!! We had the same experience at Chef Mickeys with dinner. I didnt care for the food at all, but we tried it on another trip for breakfast and it was much better. It is a fun meal for sure. I love the pics of Henry with the metal Mickey sculpture:goodvibes I have pics of my kiddos sitting in the ears and on his lap too. Such a neat thing:goodvibes Love those views from BLT! I saw the sunrise every morning of our trip when we were there:goodvibes:goodvibes
I am so excited for you getting to head out to Disneyland:goodvibes I cant wait to post lots of pictures. Have a BLAST:goodvibes

Brook, the free software that GreatBiscuit pointed me to, (which worked great by the way), was Windows Live Essentials, Photo Gallery. Link Actually, I think I need to reload it on our PC also.

I'm glad that Joe got "his" day (although my style is more like yours, and the day before this one looked AWESOME :thumbsup2). I'll bet the Sea Raycer was fun, although it was a shame that Henry wasn't quite ready for it yet....he will soon have a "need for speed", don't you worry.

Oh, almost forgot -- have a great time in Disneyland!!!

What a nice, relaxing morning! Your Chef Mickey's food looks GOOD. Yum! How neat that Joe got to experience a sea raycer. They look fun! :)

Why have I never noticed that you have the tiniest, cutest nose piercing? I like it!

I'm also an introvert. I need to be alone sometimes as well. ;)

What a beautiful relaxing day. We also loved BLT and hope to stay there again.

It really was a great way to spend the day - a perfect follow up to our crazy commando day!

I really like that metal Mickey sculpture, it's such a nice little piece and so unique! It will be fun to return there on a future trip and get another shot to see how much growing happened over the years.

Aw, stink! I have a Mac, so that application doesn't work. Perhaps when we return and I have a touch more time I'll install it on our server and go from there. :scratchin It really was such a pretty morning and view, so I want to do it!

Henry is such a timid kid, I wasn't all too surprised when he wanted to return to shore. I actually look forward to the day when he has a bit more guts and need for speed!

Chef Mickey's breakfast really was good! We enjoyed every aspect of the meal - except the characters missing us! :goodvibes

 about the nose piercing! You aren't alone in just randomly noticing. It is veryyyyy small. I've had it for years (8, I think?) and often forget it's there!

After the many days of our trip of all together, all the time, that solo time was very needed! It really helps energize me. I was pretty solo at the pool too, so that was very nice!

Tomorrow is the day!! I thought I'd share some basics of our plans:

Wednesday, January 11 - arrival

Thursday, January 12 - Disneyland/DCA - focus on Disneyland during the day, see World of Color at night

Friday, January 13 - Disneyland/DCA - focus on DCA, see Dreams (fireworks) at night (I also have a TA class this day)

Saturday, January 14 - LegoLand! It's a surprise for Henry. He doesn't even know LegoLand exists. :thumbsup2

Sunday, January 15 - Character breakfast, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood Walk of Fame, see the Hollywood sign, drive/walk down Rodeo Drive, possibly visit the La Brea Tar Pits, and the Santa Monica Pier/beach

Monday, January 16 - Disneyland/DCA - see anything we have missed/want to do again. See SoundSational parade in Disneyland. (Back up day for World of Color/fireworks)

Tuesday, January 17 - departure. Cry.

I WILL be Facebooking and Tweeting during the trip!

Oh Brook, this latest flurry of updates are fabulous! Wow, you weren't kidding about the "day that never ended", were you? I'm duly impressed with all you packed into that day, impressed indeed.:thumbsup2

Sigh, all of your F&G pictures really make me want to go during that time. Sigh, sigh, sigh. I love flowers and Disney so really, it makes perfect sense for me to go then.

Love all of Henry's sweet pics! He has the most darling little smirk I've ever seen. How adorable that he and his girlfriends were running around with those stuffed animals.

The CR pool looks like a blast. And Joe and Henry zooming off together in the sea raycer looked like fun too. I know what you mean about being a bit introverted and needing some time to yourself. I'm the same way so I can totally appreciate your staying behind to chill.:thumbsup2

Your DL plans look great! Are you going to incorporate an update from it here in this TR? Purty please?

Have an ultra-fab time Brook!:goodvibes

Wowsers! I had a LOT to catch up on! I've been off the DIS since October because life has been so crazy! But i'm back for good now!! :thumbsup2

Too much to comment on, but know that I love reading about your adventures and especially seeing those sweet pictures of your baby boy!

I hope you have the most magical time at Disneyland. I'll be looking forward to your updates!

When you get back I'll get with my most favorite travel agent about my Feb trip!

Your DL plans sound great. I can't wait to hear your impressions and comparisons. Have a magical trip! :goodvibes

What a great day at BLT!!!! Got to love relaxing days like that!!!!

I hope you all have a great trip to DL!! I can't wait to follow along via FB!!

That is so exciting that you are headed to DLR! We did three days at Disneyland/California Adventure this past October. We also took a day to see Hollywood, the La Brea Tar Pits, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Venice. It is definitely a different experience than WDW, but you will have a blast.

Fun update! It sounds like a lovely and relaxing day, which you guys definitely needed (even if YOU might not have thought so :lmao:)

Fly safe and I can't wait to read about your trip on FB!!!!! Plans look good. Which character breakfast are you doing? We loved the one at PCH :thumbsup2

I'm sure I am too late, but I hope you guys have an awesome trip! Your plans sound fantastic! I can't wait to see all your pictures since I have never been to DL! :yay:
