I just realised I am leaving for Florida in just over a month and we have no idea where or how to get a marriage license! I know you can get one by mail, but does anyone know how long they take? Or have a website? Or is it best to just go down to the courthouse and get it? I just didn't want to use up holiday time! Any help will be VERY appreciated! :thumbsup2

I got mine through the mail. Originally I was going to go to the courthouse and get it but we were arriving in Disney late Thursday and the only day before the wedding to get it was Friday. I kept thinking that I was going to run into a problem and then I wouldn't have been able to get one. I think I was just paranoid.

Anyway, I started the online process just over 30 days out from the wedding. I used sayidoweddings.com They were super nice and everything was quick and easy.

Here you go! The marriage license section is on the right side.

I have an email point of contact at work, I'll try to pm you with it tomorrow. Every time I've emailed them, they replied within a couple hours. When I got the app back for notorizing, they had my DF's date of birth wrong, and I emailed them, and they mailed me a corrected copy the same day.

Good luck!

Eeek! I just noticed you're from the UK! You're cutting it close there kiddo! ;) If you're getting there a couple of days before your wedding, you may just want to go there in person, so you don't have to worry about waiting for it snail-mail.

Oh, BTW, I'm getting married two days before you!! Yay for May brides!

I would go to the court house, we don't have much luck with the post! We went bright and early the first day we got to Florida and was only there for about 30 minutes max!

If I remember there is a form you can download from the website to fill in and take it with you and that speeds up the process but not by much.

we went to the courthouse in kissimee on the first day as well and we had to wait all of 5 mins to get our license and it wasnt far from disney at all.

We then had rev jack had the license back to us after the wedding and we took it back to the courthouse to get it all stamped and get our copies (saved us waiting for it to be sent back to the uk)

We went to the Orange county Courthouse Friday morning before our Sat afternoon wedding! I was so nervous about getting the license but it was really easy. Only took us about 30 mins and we were done.

Do you have a link to the website?

I think I'll just go to the courthouse, its loads more expensive to get it by mail. I'm staying in Davenport, which is the nearest courthouse and what do I need to take? Do I need to make an appointment?

I second the courthouse option. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes, very easy. The "are you sure you want to get married" informational packet that they make you read was interesting, though

Sorry I haven't get the link saved anymore. I'm sure the information is in the pack that Disney give you though.
