I’m getting married in March at the WP. I was wondering if you had any advice on the quickest way to get the marriage license. We don’t want to spend hours in line. Also, would any recommend the private firework show? How long is it? Thanks!

There are some companies in FL that can do it for you and send it to you via mail.

One of them is "Say I do Weddings, Inc." www.sayidoweddingsinc.com run by a former Disney wedding planner.

The fireworks I have seen were short - a couple of minutes at most.

we did our marriage license through the mail with a wedding for you inc. it was so convinient. i didnt want to waste time in florida with getting the license either.

When did you apply for your license? How long did it take to receive it and how long is it valid for?

princess:

the marriage license is only valid 60 days after issue so you dont want to do due it to far in advance. we did the app about 2/3 months before the wedding in mid january, we were married march 21st

Can you apply for the licence in advance if you live outide the US?

We will only really have a day to get it if we wait until we are in Orlando

Yes that is mostly what these license companies cater to.

Has anyone gone to the courthouse in Kissimmee? Was your wait long? That is what we are planning on doing. We will be arriving on Thursday before the wedding and going straight to the courthouse from the airport. What do you need to get your marriage license? Neither of us has been married before. I am thinking just birth certificates... thanks for any info you might be able to share!!! I appreciate it!!! :sunny:

I got this directly from Wishbook....

Florida Marriage License Requirements:
Couples wishing to be married must obtain a marriage license at any County Courthouse in the State of Florida for use anywhere in the State of Florida. Blood tests are not required. Proper id entification is necessary, such as a driver’s license, certified copy of birth certificate, or passport. If a previous marriage ended in divorce within the past twelve (12) months outside the State of Florida, a copy of the divorce decree is required prior to the wedding ceremony.
There is no waiting period for out of state residents. A three (3) day waiting period is necessary for Florida Residents. The cost of the marriage license is $102.50 (subject to change without notice) payable by cash or money order. The marriage license will be issued at time of application, is valid immediately (with the exception of the three day waiting period for Florida Residents) and must be used within sixty (60) days. (Some Florida counties require a marriage license to be used within thirty days of issuance).
The Osceola and Orange County Courthouses are open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm EST, excluding holidays. The courthouses will be closed on certain holidays throughout the year. We recommend calling ahead of time to verify hours of operation.
Directions
OSCEOLA COUNTY COURTHOUSE
2 Courthouse Square
2nd floor
Kissimmee, FL
(407) 343-3530
www.osceolaclerk.com
Take Highway #535 and take a left at the intersection of Highway #192. Travel approximately 6 miles. Turn right on John Young Parkway. At the fourth traffic light turn left onto Patrick Street. Continue straight ahead. The courthouse is at the corner of Rose and Patrick Streets. The Marriage License office is located inside the courthouse building on the second floor.

Hope this helps! Good luck :)

Thanks for the posts. I was going to go to the courthouse but now I mat look into doing it by mail...

Best wishes to all!
