Hello! We're going to be arriving after hrs. on a Fri. and are getting married the following Monday, so I was wondering what our options are for getting a marriage license since we won't be able to go anywhere to sign stuff in FL.

I know you can get it through the post. I am in the UK and have enough time to get it when we arrive. But if not I could have it posted to me but it costs more.

I checked Brevard County, Orange County, and Osceola County and they all said we'd have to be there in person. Do you know who gets it to people through the post? Thanks so much! :)

Inside Florida?

Lots of USA brides on here have done it by mail.

You can find the forms for the "mail away" license here.

We used Brevard Co by mail for our license because we are in the same boat as you regarding arriving Friday and having our ceremony Monday morning! It was very easy to do it through the mail, and we got our paperwork back very quickly both times.

We first had to fill in the application mentioned in girli's link. We faxed that to them. About four business days later, we got another form from them that we signed before a notary. We sent this form back to them (along with a copy of our licenses, a notarized form saying I'm a girl and DF's a boy (!) and $93.50), and they sent us back the form which will be our official marriage license (good for 60 days). We'll sign it after our ceremony and send it back to them one final time.

It sounds confusing, but it was so easy! I've heard of brides using a company to get their license, but save yourself the money and do it yourself!

Hope this helps!!

So you signed that before a notary where you are? (Outside of FL?)

O man...saying you're a girl and DF's a boy...that's ridiculous!

Yea, I checked out the company that Disney lists, but it's like $195 or something!

DH & I got married at Disney...

But our license was notarized by an acquaintance here in Louisiana...

No probs... not a lot of $....

Ha! I asked DF how he was going to prove this to the notary! :rotfl:

Yes, we signed it here in North Carolina.

$10 for the notary + $93.50 for the license + $.88 for the stamps = way cheaper than $195. And you have plenty of time to do it.... we started the process the middle of January for our early March wedding!

HTH!

O jeez! I wonder if they would let someone who was once one sex, but then became the other and was marrying the now opposite, lol.

Okay, cool.

Thank you so much!

We also did it by mail and it was super easy!! Our bank notarized it for free and then we paid the $93.50.
