Marrakesh vs Rose & Crown

Visiting EPCOT next week and simply can't decide between Marrakesh and Rose & Crown for dinner. Advice?

We're currently holding a 7:30 pm ADR, which would seem to be the ideal time to try to score patio seating for Illuminations. Still, I don't think it's that big a deal. If we miss out, we should still have time to finish dinner at a good pace and find a decent spot to watch somewhere in WS. I almost think I'd prefer Marrakesh, which looks to have a fun show for the kids, if we can't get the patio. I know, no guarantees either way.

DD9 is a really picky eater, and I actually think the kid's menu at Marrakesh would fit her better. DS11 is pretty picky too, but he'll roll with anything (especially if he can pull ordering off the kids menu). Both DW and I have looked at the regular dinner menu for both and we both feel there's great options on both.

If it makes any difference, we are not on the DP.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you do know what you want. Marrakesh seems to fit your kids needs will give them some entertainment and is pleasing to the adults as well. I have found plenty of great places around ws for illuminations. This seems to be your main point for rose and crown but not as pleasing to your kids. Go with marrekesh

Yeah, rereading what I wrote, it seems Marrakesh should be the choice. Still, I really like what Rose & Crown brings to the table too. I am a fan of British pub grub and their selection of beers.

One thing I am getting hung up on is that Rose & Crown seems so much more popular. For the evening we'll be in Epcot, Rose & Crown only has two ADR times left, and if I let my 7:30 pm slot go, I am guessing it will get snapped up quickly and it'll be unlikely I'll get as good a slot if I change my mind (again). Meanwhile, I've got my pick with Marrakesh times. What am I missing here? Is Moroccan cuisine that much more exotic that the average EPCOT visitor just isn't adventurous enough to try it? Or something else?

For those that have been to both Marrakesh and Rose & Crown, which one brings the best combo of ambiance, food and overall fun? I'm really interested in what folks think is the better experience between the two and why.

We far prefer Marrakesh. They do a good job with the food. When we were there last in 2013, the "show" was rather minor. The belly dancer invited kids up to dance as well, but it was brief.

I just let go of Rose and Crown for tonight, so we can pack (been here 2 nights), but did not let go of Marrakesh for tomorrow night. We have found Rose and Crowns food to be average, but not spectacular. And the searing is very crowded.

I have been to both multiple times and enjoy both very much.
The atmosphere at both is unique and very nice.
For something different I would go with Marrakesh, especially since it seems to meet your kids needs better. At some other point you can stop by the Rose & Crown Pub for a quick beer and a pub fix.
Have Fun

Bit the bullet. We cancelled Rose & Crown and switched to Marrakesh. I'm sure we'll be happy, but I'll be sure to at least stop by the pub for some British ale :cool2:

Marrakesh always seems to have availability. I think too many people are hesitant to try it. I used to be in that camp, and my mom always wanted to try it. A few years ago, after looking through their binder w/pictures of their entrees, I decided to give it a try. It quickly became a must-do for us! The only thing I have had is the shish-kebab, which I really like. Last year, they had a lunch special - looking at the menu, it sounds like the Berber Feast, but it also included a beef brewat roll - my cousin had that and said it was her favorite meal of the trip (which included HBD, R&C, Le Chefs de France, and Tutto Italia among others.).

We had been wanting to try Marrakesh for awhile but were put off by mixed reviews. Finally we had dinner there in March of last year and absolutely loved it! Went back in Nov. with our kids, one picky, and they also loved it. Have an ADR there for our trip this Nov :) Hope you and your family enjoy it!

We did Marakeesh twice...our first and last timeThe food was just ok. RosenCrown gets my nod. Food is tasty and atmosphere is great
