Markets or Grocery Stores within walking distance or by ART?

I am going to DL in September with my mom and dad. The first 3 days of the trip we will be staying at the Hojo and the last 5 days at GCH. Are there any supermarkets or convinent stores near either one of these? I doubt there would be one near GCH. And if there is not one within walking distance, is there one that you can get to by the ART?

I would suggest the 460 bus. It picks up guests at the DLR bus stop and only north bound at HoJo on taht little side street on the west side of HoJos. It iwll take you to an Albersons market, Knotts Berry Farm, and the Buena Park Mall that has a Wal Mart. It is like a couple dollars round trip. 15 minutes each way. Runs every half hour and is a Los Angeles Metro bus.

There are other buses like ART and public buses that can take you near super markets.

Just a warning...we stayed at the Homewood Suites last September and asked for a nearby grocery store. They sent us to a Von's (on Chapman St) just down the street. However, it was brutal. It was getting late in the evening and there was actually a security guard on duty at the door and bars on the stores. The food selection was actually ok if a little limited (it is a small grocery store); the clientele was frightening. I was just glad we had left our girls with my mom at the hotel and glad to have my husband with me. It probably wouldn't be too bad in the daytime but just beware if anyone tries to send you there.
