Mariott Ile de France or Davy Crockett?

We've decided it's between these two. The Mariott looks wonderful and I think we could get a great deal, that would make it cheaper than a cabin at Davy Crockett's.

But Davy Crockett's is Disney and would have feaures (like the pool!) that would send our son over the moon.

Don't really care that we have to get a rental car for Davy Crockett's, we'd want one for the Mariott, anyways, so that's not a factor.

I guess what's giving me pause are reports that the Disneyland Paris resorts have been showing their age and lack of maintenance as the resort struggles along, and aren't up the standards we'd expect coming from our Walt Disney World experiences.

Any comments?

I love the Marriot (i'm going back for my 3rd visit in June)and I definitley don't think you'd be disappointed. It is very well set out and if you have a car and buy AP's you could use the free parking at Disney.

There are two pools at the Marriot (one outside and one in). I've never used either yet but they look okay for a swim. Probably not as playful as the DCR one for children though.

There are also outside and inside play areas.

Definitely the Marriot for me :thumbsup2

We've not been to the Marriott so can't compare. However going back to DCR again this summer. Although you need a car you do indeed feel part of the magic.
It has arguably the best of all the Disney pool. You have all the benefits of staying onsite. Shopping delivery, hotel id for charging and free parking, characters at the ranch. We loved the fitting of the cabins.
DCR for us :thumbsup2

One of the things that your son might like about the Ranch is the Davy Crockett's Adventure; my kids are quite disappointed that it won't be open when we're there in March.

Because DLP is celebrating its 15th anniversary, I would imagine that they will be making efforts to showcase the park and make everything as neat and pretty as possible.

I would suggest not going to DLP in 'comparison' mode. Enjoy DLP for the park that it is, not how it necessarily stacks up to WDW. It's not always easy (we try to avoid comparisons on our trips to DL and WDW, as an example). There are special things about each park, and of course, things might be more to your liking in one place than the other. Doesn't mean it's bad...just different.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stays at the Marriott villas -- two bedrooms, a full kitchen with dishwasher, 2-1/2 bathrooms, laundry room. Would do it again, and again.

I would choose the Marriotts but only because it is so comfortable.

The pool in DCL is better and if the weather is good then I imagine it would be fantasic. My children are older and still loved the animals and the woodland. I am surprised the Davy Crocketts adventure is closed I tought it was open all year with reservations.
