out of commission for at least 7-10 days due to Sandy and power outages. No gasoline available so am making this one trip to our firehouse to pay bills on time. back to DISigning when I can. In the meantime, reading by flashlight under many blankets!

at least 8 or 10 huge oaks down on my property but none hit house. my brother wasn't so lucky. his family held out in basement while 4 large trees came down on their roof. all are well though!

now snow coming and will probably knock out more people....oh well, I never got mine back yet. Was told today but now website says Sunday at 11:59 pm

Oh Marion! I wish we lived a little closer. You would be welcome to join us and have a home cooked meal and hot shower. Glad you are okay. Samuel and James have been saying prayers for you daily since the storm. Is there anything we can do for you?

Just keep on hoping and praying that our power is back soon. I went to bed last night with my socks and underwear so they wouldn't be torture to put on this morning! (didn't think of that the night before and it was not pleasant! )

Luckily my office is open this week so at least during the day I am warm. Also our local volunteer fire company has warming and recharging facilities so we have set up the laptop a couple times to stay in touch, mainly with my DD and DSIL in California.

Once power is back we will still have to wait for the cable company to restore our phone, tv and internet.....lots of those lines down as well.
