So, after the 'excitement' of today's registration, how many WISHers will be running this race? I will!

Me and my best running bud are in! Super stressful, but looking forward...I've heard great things about this one

I am! Sandwiched between Tower of Terror and Wine and Dine...

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to transition from this one to the WDW marathon?

I'm in and proudly running for the Semper Fi Fund (my and DH's second time) this will be my third MCM

I'm in for the MCM! What a nail bitter that was.

Good question - we're running Dumbo and then probably Dopey. How to adjust training to account for all these runs?

Hopefully Coach or someone will respond with good advice.

Last year, I ran The Chicago Marathon and then transitioned to run the unofficial Dopey in January. I just picked up my marathon training plan at the 13M Long Run point in November (after resting several weeks to recover from Chicago). Then I added 3 training 'doubles' -- Long Runs on Saturday and Sunday -- where the distance on Saturday was half the distance on Sunday. I did these to get used to running on tired legs (Goofy simulation).

Not much adjustment is needed, really. A few back to back runs to get used to running on tired legs, maybe, but other than that, a normal marathon training program is all you need. Well, I suppose a few days to practice being up at 330am would be in order too. :)

Did you not run at all during the weeks after Chicago or did you just back off with training a bit?

I backed off the training in the three weeks after the marathon (this was my first Full). Week 1 was only 10 miles. Week 2 was 15. Week 3 was 20. And the fourth Week I ran a Half Marathon after which I restarted my training plan.

I'm in for MCM. Did it last year and then did Goofy. Hope to do it this year and then Dopey.

Hoping to do this as well. Just don't know how to quite adjust the training from doing Dumbo in Sept, then the MCM, then Dopey. On top of it, have a couple of halfs we already committed to in Nov (between MCM and Dopey) as well. AND stay injury-free.

I'm in. Since I'm a military member, I was able to register early. Can't wait!

I used Hal Higdon Intermediate 2 to train for MCM. He mentions that is well designed for Goofy runners. I just jumped back into it after recovering from MCM and used it get me to Disney. I didn't push it that hard as far as distance(think I did one 20) before Disney and got through Goofy fine. Good luck with your training. MCM is a great marathon!

I'm in - wow that was a cluster with active - although I have guaranteed entries - so idk why I was sitting there :p

Thanks! Looking forward to MCM. From what I hear, it's a great first marathon experience.

I wouldn't worry about dumbo into MCM training. By Sept you'll be well into the meat of marathon training, and running 6 miles and then 13 miles the next will be the norm.

As far as MCM into Dopey, I would do a reverse taper and then get back into the miles. If you pick up Peter Pfitzinger's Advanced Marathoning book, he has some great schedules for back to back marathons. Even if it's too many miles, it's a good base to at least give you an idea, and then you can modify based on what works for you.

I am not running but my son and his friends got in. What a mess! Looking forward to going and cheering for everyone!
