You guys are the best!
Thanks for thinking of me this weekend...it was a tough one.

very tough.
I visited w/ my uncle twice...once for an hour on Saturday w/ my dad, and then about 2 hrs on Sunday w/ my sisters. He'd had a rough night Saturday night and was pretty tired on Sunday, but kept talking and telling stories...we laughed pretty much the whole time. The hardest part for me...and this is something I'll never forget....I was the last one out of the room on Sunday and I gave him a kiss on the forehead and told him I loved him...he said, " I love you too, and I'll see ya later."

Problem is....the hospice nurse (and the dr.'s) have said 4-6 weeks. The cancer is moving very fast. My heart has broken several times this weekend. I'm very glad I got to see him...it was a good visit....but the whole damn thing sucks. (he's 54 frickin' years old!!)
Ok...anyway, I am now 725 miles from Mom & Dad. I set the odometer this morning when we left. Got on the road at 5:20 am, and I pulled into my apt. complex at 5:15 pm! We had a couple of gas stops, and I had to drop sis off in Huntsville, but that was only about a 20 minute break...oh, and lunch was about 20 minuts too. Damn long day to top off a damn long weekend.
Oh, and the dog had to have surgery on Thursday. I told Kim, but didn't have time to post....darn dog ate some pieces to his chew bone...(read CHEW, not EAT!) Anyway, he threw most of it up....one piece somehow made it down into his intestine....thus he didn't eat for 4 days and looked like crap. I called the vet Thursday morning, they took x-rays and had to do surgery Thursday afternoon. He's home now, skinny, but happy again!
Ok...I'm going to go balance the checkbook...heck, i'm already depressed as hell....
