Thanks CJK....you're right....thanks for the encouragement!!
Today was pretty good!
b-toast w/ honey butter
l-crappy chicken salad on wheat (only about 1/2)
s-3 bites of pecan pie
d-handfull of speghetti (no, i didn't really measure it that way...honestly

)
water-(sit down kim..it's good) 100oz!!!
exercise-30 minutes on the treadmill this morning....whenever DH gets home, I'll do another 30 or 40...depending what time that is! (he got a late arrest)
DS is having problems at school again...but I'm the one confused!! I get a call from his teacher today telling me that he's not concentrating, and applying himself, and not completing his classwork, but that he is VERY polite and respectful. okaaaayyyyyyy....she also says that in the 5th grade they shouldn't have to have someone check their agenda books to make sure they are writing stuff down correctly. I said, well, if he's not writing it down correctly, how can I make sure he's doing the work?.....she also said that I should time his homework....give him 45 minutes to do it, and if he can't get it done in that time, then he'll have to finish it during art, or gym. So, I said..."Ok..you want me to let him NOT finish his homework at home, so he can finish it during ART, or GYM, and then he can get bad grades in those classes, as well as half credit for not completing his homework. It sounds to me like that's setting him up to fail." She started to respond and I said..."How about if we try this for a few weeks...you sign off on his agenda book before he leaves school,DAILY, so I can make sure he's doing the correct assignments....that way his grades won't drop....AND I continue to help him with his work at night, as well as we have him tested by the County school system to see where he is having problems. I realize he is ADHD, and he's on meds, but I don't see where limiting his time is going to help him succeed at all. I'm going to try to ENCOURAGE him to do his best, not rush through it, not understand it, and fail." We talked for a few minutes, she agreed to sign off on his book, and I will be making some phone calls tomorrow for the Achievement Testing. (it's proper procedure I guess) I ALSO got a call from his gym teacher telling me how great he is doing this year, how much he's grown, mentally and physically, and how he can't believe it's the same boy from last year.
(anyway, after I got off the phone w/ his teacher, 3 of the girls in the office started clapping.....it was pretty funny!)
Sorry this is so long...just at my wits end on how to handle all this.
btw-he's been working on 28 math problems for 2 hrs now, so yes, I know there are problems!
thanks for listening, as usual!
