I just wanted to share my story about meeting Marie Osmond at Disneyland. She was at Disneyland during the beginning of December promoting her new Cinderella doll. We had no intention of meeting her, but a nice lady gave me her wristband to wait in line to meet her.

When it was our turn she asked my DD what her name was. My daughters name is Adara. Well Marie got really excited because she has a whole line of dolls called "Adora-Belle". She told my daughter since she had such a special name she was going to send her a special gift and had me give her assistant our address.

Well, I wasn't really expecting her to send my DD anything or maybe just a small trinket, but last week we received a box from Marie. She sent one of her full sized collectable dolls "Adora-Belle Minnie". I was shocked and it made my DD's day that someone famous sent her a gift.

We've had alot of Magical Moments at Disney, but this has topped them all.

Gosh, that is so neat! How nice for her to really follow through with that and what a special keepsake for your daughter. I still remember Friday nights and watching the Donny and Marie show (I am really dating myself on that one). Thanks for sharing your nice story.

Wow! That is an awesome story! Thanks for sharing!

Like Amy&Dan, I remember watching the Donny and Marie Show as a kid, but I go back even further...when I was in first grade my mom bought tickets for me and my sisters (they had to take me since Mom wasn't about to)...Donny Osmond and his brothers were playing our local state fair...my little almost 6 year old heart be still! I had the hugest crush on him...Mom would read my bedtime stories from Tiger Beat magazine...they had a series of Donny's adventures...oooh!

Anyway...everytime I have seen Marie on TV or when I read her book, I have always thought she has to be one of the sweetest people on the planet...and your story proves it!

Again, thanks for sharing! And maybe could you post a photo of the doll? I think her dolls are really cute.

My dad used to work at Osmond Studios - I got a jacket from Donny Osmond when they were remodeling the studio and cleaning out some stuff. my friends were so jealous! The Osmond family is very nice and very genuine.

I was born in the same hospital as Donny and Marie. Does that make me special? :confused3

I don't know much about Donny and Marie, but that's really awesome that she was kind enough to send your daughter such a special gift! :thumbsup2

Well, I was born in the '70s so I don't remember them from there show (but I have seen a few episodes). But I did watch them when they had their talkshow.

Besides sending the doll, she spent a good 15 minutes talking to my kids. You can tell she really loves kids and I think she was excited to see some kids who wanted to meet her (it was mostly adults waiting to see her). She is really funny and looks great too.

I got several pictures with her. I'll talk a picture of the doll this weekend and post them here on Monday.

Thanks! That would be awesome!

That is such a wonderful memory for you and your daughter. How nice of Marie to send you something!!
I too remember watching the Donny and Marie show.
I saw the candle light processional at Disneyland in Dec 2004. Marie Osmond was the narrator that year. It was fabulous. It was quite a thrill!

How fabulous. But I would not have expected less from an Olive Marie. They are pretty nice people.

O.K. I finally had time to upload the pictures, so here are the pictures of Marie and the doll ;) !

Your welcome! I also love the beauty marks on all the dolls and their BIG eyes. It looks like she is coming back to Disneyland in July, so I may have my daughter make her a thank you card to give to her if we see her.

How awsome! I met her once as well and she was SO SUPER NICE! I was pregnant and didn't wan a picture with her, but she grabbed me, hugged me and told my mom (who I was with) to grab the camera and take the picture because someday I would be glad to have it :lmao:
