Mariah Carrey's Disney Vow Renewal

To be honest, I think it's kind of a shame. Their vow renewal is nothing but a collection of the stereotypes many people think of when they hear "Disney wedding." Except, they have millions, so they can do things (like stay in the dream suite) that no mere mortal could ever do through Disney.

Also, they seriously have a vow renewal every year?! I'm sorry, but that is very self obsessed. Didn't Heidi and Seal do that, too? Obviously, it doesn't help...

yep..I remember Heidi and Seal making a big deal every year..

Guess I'm in the minority here, but I love everything they did. They obviously have the finances to do so. I thought she looked lovely, and I'd kill to stay in the Dream Suite too.

And I really have nothing against having a vow renewal every year either. If it makes them happy, more power to them. I know many people (unfortunately) who feel that having any vow renewal is stupid. :confused3

I am also not a fan - but very cool - and ok if they do a vow renewal. We are celebrating our 5 year anniversary this November and are planning a WDW vacation with 10 of our friends and then we are all getting on the Disney Dream for our anniversary. No vow renewal - just planning a nice celebrating.

If they want a vow renewal, then they should have it, that's their business, but what about the people who save forever to take their families there on vacation, being turned away from the castle for a private event? Taking up that space and that time from the rest of the world seems somewhat inconsiderate to me. JMHO

Not a fan of the costumes, but she looks amazing! She seriously looks younger than she has in years.

I'm pretty sure the article said it was an after hours event.

The Royal Footman from Cinderella, Major Domo, served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening and escorted the approximately 250 guests to Fantasyland for a champagne toast and reception DJ'd by Cannon. The space was adorned with 15,000 blooms imported from South Africa, Holland and France, and 10,000 crystals. Guests were able to take advantage of the park being closed to the public and ride the famous Matterhorn Bobsleds, the King Arthur Carousel and peruse the Peter Pan and Snow White attractions.

Exactly... I don't think they would close Disneyland to the public during regular operating hours for ANYONE.

My fiance grew up 20 minutes from Disneyland and he said they regularly closed Disneyland for events. Mostly corporate events but he specifically remembers them closing it early for Miley Cryrus's birthday - 16 maybe?

On the other hand, I don't remember a time at all that they closed Disney World for something like that.

I thought Mariah and the kids looked adorable. I'm not sure how I feel about Nick Cannon in the Prince costume. I wish there was more pictures!

I stand corrected!! Wow. It's kind of heinous that they would do that. :-(

I totally agree! I was really surprised when he told me that. I would be so pissed off if I took my trip and found out a park was closing early like that!

It's something about "Disneyland is more annual passholders who come for the day and Disney World is more for vacationers." I don't care, I would still be annoyed!!

I thought this was so adorable! I also think it's so sweet how they renew their vows every year. It's usually nothing fabulous, but always cute and fun!
