Hope you're having a great time !!!
I'm looking forward to seeing the WOC dessert party in a couple of weeks.
I heard it's crazy crowded over at DL Park.
Enjoy your evening !

Thanks! We're having a great time. We spent most of today at Disneyland and the crowds weren't too bad. It sounds like we got out just in time.

I bet they're taping it over by small world. when we enter Disneyland today we saw a sign saying small world would close at 5 and wondered why.

Didn't see any of it. There was something being set up in front of the castle with a male celeb I didn't recognize. Also the schedule for the day said that the parade was held at 10:30am and 1:15pm for filming the TV special. No night-time parade, what with Small World being mobbed.

My god this was CROWDED. I've been to Disneyland 4th of July and Christmas, and New Years and the crowds yesterday were the worst I have ever seen. For a Wednesday. In historic "slow time." Still, we had a blast. Used Fastpasses and rode every single ride except the Carousel, Splash Mountain (son didn't want to get wet), and the AstroOrbiters. And rode many rides more than once. The only real inconvenience was IASW closing at 5 and I like to see it lit up. We steered clear of that area starting at 4 PM so didn't get to see it decked out. We did time our final ride on BTMRR to coincide with the fireworks, which, if you have never done, is the best way to see the firework show (and ride BTMRR). Pulled into the station right at the finale. Son still thinks I coordinated that for his birthday. Shhh.

Sounds like you had a great time ! Good tip on riding BTMRR at fireworks time. Happy Birthday to your son !

I was there yesterday... I thought that Disneyland in particular felt very empty. The crowd to watch the early parade was very light (I was one deep on the curb and I walked up about ten minutes before it started), and navigating the walkways (at least until those hours before the fireworks) felt positively leisurely.

Where it was PACKED was by Small World before and during Mariah Carey's performance... They were roping off the crowd by segments, allowing small groups of people to move forward at a time, and each time they did even more people crushed together. It was a bit unfortunate, because the closeness of the crowd (combined with people holding up their phones to record) made it pretty much impossible to see the performance unless you were tall or could find just the right angle.

It was still a lot of fun though! She ran through her performance three times, first without fireworks and then two more times with fireworks shooting off behind the Small World facade. Then they ran just the audio of the performance one more time, while they filmed the crowd dancing and clapping along.

A cast member told me that they were also going to be filming another musical guest tonight, but that they didn't know who. Maybe someone there today can fill us in?

Thanks for your input on the situation. It sounds fun if you were in the right spot and with no kids. As in with kids not being able to see or getting smoshed. I wonder who it might be performing tonight.

Off topic, but how was it?? We have reservations for Monday and I'm hoping to get there close to ticket time. Money well spent for me is not having to wait:)

It was a very comfortable low stress way of watching the show. I didn't really care for the desserts offered but that's just more of a personal preference.

Thank you! May I ask how close to ticket time you lined up? And how were the tables assigned? Thank you!

Well, that was kind of complicated. We lined up around 6:50 for a 7:30 check in. We were the third group in line. When they seated us it was kind of confusing and we ended up just sitting down at a table. Then somebody came over and decided to move us. it seems they had paired us up with the first people in line who are also a party of 2. But I didn't really want to sit where they were sitting. Eventually a waiter came over with our food and told us to just stay where we were. But we felt very well taken care of after that.
