Mariage License Paperwork - Sex Certification?!

I had to snicker when I got my paperwork for our marriage license from Bevard County. Swear in front of a notary that he is a man, and I am a woman? I told my DF I was half-expecting the notary to tell him to drop his trouse for "proof"

I guess they do that, so they don't accidently issue a marriage license to people of the same sex? I just thought it was funny having to certify what sex we are...I'm just glad they accepted a photo id!

What we found funny was that we had to certify that we were AT Least 2nd cousins........so that we could marry!!!!..........althought that was almost 15 yrs. ago!
