I am thinking of trying Margaritaville this June with my husband and kids, ages 9 and 4. My questions are: What is the Margarita Volcano? Is there enough for the kids to see/do in City Walk? And at what time does it go from being kid friendly to night clubs? Thanks!

I can't help with your questions about the volcano, but Citywalk's clubs generally "open" as clubs around nine p.m. For the most part, they're sort of off the beaten path from the main walkway of Citywalk, too.

I've always seen kids having a good time at Citywalk. It's very similar to DTD, lots of shopping, food, etc.

your kids would enjoy margaritaville...they have the stilt walkers blowing balloons up for the kids and they have their own "packet" menu....activities and coloring on the souvenir menu. the "volcano" is behind the bar and every 1/2 -hour (i think) it "blows"...meaning "margarita" spews from the top and the place breaks out into the song....you have to see it once (then, that's probably enuf). There are "carny" type games at CW for the kids too....so, take money if your kids are into that. You can dance at CW too if you like...live entertainment "center stage". Clubs open at 9.....so, if you are thinking of a late dinner, best to go and get in by 8 before the "adults" starting "clubbing".

Live band starts at 10. Good choice for kids, tho, overall. If you know Mr. Buffet's music, look toward the bar whenever they play "Volcano."

I've never found Citywalk to be anything but kid-friendly. It has a much more open and mall-like atmosphere than Pleasure Island IMO. As someone said, the clubs are off the main area and there is a theater, some shops and quite a few restaurants around the main track.

Of course we've never been there after around 10PM or so so maybe it gets rowdier later on.

The Volcano is in the bar area of the restaurant but can be seen by most tables, I think. You can't see it from outside of the restaurant.

Margaritaville is very kid friendly. They have the stilt walkers, balloon animals, Buffett songs, and great drinks.
We enjoy sitting on the outside deck (The Porch of Indecision.) They were nice enough to let us bring the stroller up to the table with our sleeping 3 year old in it (not sure if they let it happen all the time.)

We usually spend 3 nights at the Royal Pacific before heading to Disney World and eat at Margaritaville all 3 nights. Yes, we are Parrotheads with 2 Parakeets.

Love the quesadillas (I order it as my entree.)

We are heading to CW as soon as the plane lands! Mainly to pick up our $85 tickets, and we will hang for awhile. Margaritaville is definetly where we will eat. It is great fun, and you can't beat the "cheeseburger in paradise" !!!
We have 4 kiddos, 16, 13, 6 & 4. The 16 and 13 year old have been many times when they were younger and it's always been a fun place to be. I'm sure this year, that they are a bit older, will be different fun, and we know the little ones will enjoy too!
Enjoy MV, the music rocks, the atmosphere is totally vaca and the food is yumma! Not a bad choice at all!
