We'll be at Universal from 8/23-8/26. I'd like to try Margaritaville but I'm not sure which park we'll be at on any given day. Must I absolutely make a PS now or is it ok to make one in the morning on the day we decide to have dinner there? With all of the PS and planning I've had to do for WDW, I feel like being a bit more carefree at Universal. I know we have FOTL for the restaurants over there, but I don't want to wait an hour for the next table either. Any suggestions?
We were there last week & the night we decided to eat at Margaritaville, we went straight from the RPR around 5:00, it had been raining for at least an hour by that time & we were certain that most of the restaurants would be packed with people leaving the parks early because of the rain. When we walked up to the hostess I was alittle apprehensive after hearing the person in front of me walk back to their party saying "No change yet, still 2 hours"!!
I flashed my handy dandy room key & asked her sheepishly how long of a wait it would be for a table of 4. Her response? 15 minutes!! WOW. Put my name on the list, then after finding out that we may not have a view of the volcano from the dining room, I went back & inquired about the best seats for the kids to see the eruption. She said that if I went around the outside & downstairs we could sit at the bar or at any of the high stooled tables in that area that were open right now! We went down & immediately found a seat, right next to the volcano. I think my experience may be rare though, as I've heard others say they've still had to wait an hour even with their room key. We loved Margaritaville & would probably wait if we had to in the future. Good food, fun atmosphere & we had a wonderful waiter who's girlfriend lives in Pittsburgh so we had quite a bit to talk about. I wish I knew if you could make a PS in the morning, I'm sure some of the regulars around here could help you more in that department with their advice. Enjoy your trip!
