Hey Guys,

Was just wondering who here is from New Orleans and will be escaping to WDW for Mardi Gras--it would be cool to try to meet up!

We will be at the BCV from the 6-12.
2-BR villa.
It will be us (me, DW, DS-7,DS-5, DD-1), BIL, SIL, and neice-9.

Also, most of my family will be there--at least another 17 or so people--at various resorts.

Anyone else????
Any ideas for a meet?

What's up, Doc?

We live in Lakeview. We'll be at BCV Feb 5-12 in a 2BR as well. Me, DW, 13yo DS, 11yo DD:cheer2:, and the inlaws who are from Ft. Walton Beach. Also, we have some New Orleans friends staying at BCV in a studio with their 11yo DD from Feb 5-9. Other friends will be at AKL Feb 8-12.

It would be cool to meet up. My kids are a bit older but are maturity impaired like their dad. Absolute Disney Fanatics. Perhaps we can figure out a place to meet. There's a good chance you'll find me having a pint at the Rose n' Crown Pub from time to time.:drinking1

We're getting ready to do PS and sketch out which days at which parks. Maybe we can compare notes and pick a place. Perhaps at a British Invasion Show in England :rockband: or Hurricane Hanna's by SAB if it's warm enough for the kids to swim. I understand the slide will be closed at that time. I'm pretty sure we're going to try to do the character breakfast at Cape Mae's on Fat Tuesday. (Smilies brought to you by DD)

Hey guys, we live in Waveland, MS just across the lake. Sorry we won't be the WDW for Mardi Gras this year. Can't make it work with my school schedule. I work for a school system and can't make my days work right. Good to know there are neighbors out there.

Waaaaah!!!!!! Sure go ahead and rub it in neighbor! You know DH has to work during Mardi Gras......but that's okay, I'll be there in 2 weeks and then again for a short weekend trip in Dec. for Mickey's Christmas party.

Hey, DH came up with the idea to actually buy AP for our upcoming trips..............just our luck though, we went to the Disney store today to purchase the AP vouchers and was told we couldn't because the computers were down nationwide. This got me wondering..... I wonder if people who are at Disney now were able to purchase AP today?? How does Disney deal with that if that was the case??

DisneyAngel12- I love riding to Waveland and going soft shell crabbing during the summer. I also work in a school system. Glad to hear I'm not the only one not going to WDW during Mardi Gras. Everyone else I know seems to go during this time, right Doc? :jester:

Tooneric--I will ask my DW what our itinerary is--she is the boss!
The only thing I know for sure is our entire party will be at the Hoop-De-Do thing on Monday night--after that, she hasn't told me, but I will find out and let you guys know.

DisneyAngel12--call in sick, we'll pick you up on the way

Time4Disney---I will gladly give hubby a sick note! or we can claim an alien abduction :space: . Sorry y'all cant join us this year--but at least you get MVMCP! Have a great trip!

Glenn

Dw just booked Rose n Crown for Saturday night, Feb 5th.

We're trying for the Fantasmic Dining Experience Mardi Gras night for 13 people. We're also going to try the Safari Celebration Dinner (needs 8 or more) at AK for 10 people Thursday night. Those are our two big group events.

Doc, Add us to the list of those fleeing Mardi Gras, and in our case the Senior Bowl. We will be at SSR in a 2bed. this time. It will be me, DH, DD8, DD5, DD1, SIL, My Mom, my Dad. Can't wait, we all went together in Dec. 03 and had a great time. I think that ya'll were there last time we went down in May at BCV, weren't you?

Good to know I have DVC friends so close. What do you do at the schools?

ErinC

Yes, you are correct!
Also,we will soon be even closer neighbors.
We are relocating to Mobile next summer!
As soon as I have an idea to our itinerary, we will let everyone know and hope to get to meet this time!

We'll be there...it's starting to become a tradition for us! I see my neighbor, Tooneric, will be there, as usual. I hope everybody has a great time!

This Metairie family will be staying home this year. DS is going Washington for his 7th grade trip over Mardi Gras and would be distraught if we went to Disney without him.

Have Fun!

Hi, Lulu71!

I see you'll be just across Crescent Lake from us. Maybe I'll see you at the Boardwalk Bakery one morning. Today is 90 days until Mardi Gras Day. Just booked the character breakfast at Cape Mae's and Fantasmic for 13 that evening!

What about you?
:teacher: It's so nice to meet you.
I am a positive behavioral specialist and do assessment for special education. I plan to retire in May and work part time somewhere so I can support my Disney habit.

Hi Doc and Family!
This is off the subject of the thread (I apologise) but I have been trying to contact you about the DVC tote bag that I am giving away and I believe you emailed me about it? You were the first and I would love to send it to you if you give me an address :)

Hi Doc and all Mardi Gras refugees. This is our second Mardi Gras escape to
WDW. We will be at the BWV 2/5-2/12.(Me, DW, DS-9, DS-4)
Let us know if you find a meet location. Would be fun to meet others
from the metro area.:jester: :jester:

Great escape planned for us too. SSR for the four of us. Arriving Sat before MG, leaving the Friday after. Staying in a 2 BR and can hardly wait!
