I know the Saturday night Mardi Gras parade doesn't start until next month...but we'll be there the first weekend in March. Any suggestions on a few good locations to stake out for parade viewing?

I like to watch it near Jaws. There usually isn't alot of people over there and it is easier to catch beads.

We usually watch it down by Beetlejuice in front of Richter Burger. We can have seats and grab a quick dinner then catch the parade. Usually, no one's in that area. Then we run up the street and catch part of it again as it's leaving the park. We used to do things like that back home except there you could also stand in the middle of the neutral ground (median) and catch the parade from both sides at once. :thumbsup2

Old habits from home die hard especially the one where you NEVER bend down to retrieve a doubloon while the float is in front of you. You step on it and wait for the float to pass then pick it up. It's a good way to keep your hands from getting stomped. Learned that the hard way when I was little during Rex and Zulu in Downtown New Orleans. :rotfl:

Actually....Mardi Gras starts this Saturday, the 3rd with Musical Guests Los Lonely Boys. In fact IOACentral Radio will have a huge Mardi Gras show with guests Los Lonely Boys.
