Mardi Gras Fun on 2/11

Hello!
In researching events during my upcoming stay at RPR from 2/8 - 2/12, I see that 2/11 (Saturday) is the first night of the Mardi Gras celebration.

The following weekend is the Kelly Clarkson concert, but I haven't seen any listing of what may be offered the weekend I'm there (2/11).

Has anyone been in previous years to the first Mardi Gras Saturday? I'm assuming that there is no special ticket to participate in these events? Any info is appreciated!!

I haven't seen anything else on the concert schedule either. I would expect a complete schedule very soon since we are only a little over a month away.

I'm interested in the concert as well! Have you been to any of these Mardi Gras days? Is is an all-over park thing?

I've seen some photos and it looks pretty cool with costumes etc. Are the parades every weekend?

The parades are every night there is a concert which would be Saturday/Sunday mainly but there is usually a concert on a Friday night as well. Mardi Gras isn't really a park wide event per se. Decorations are park wide but mainly in the NY area and around the Universal Music Plaza where the concerts take place. I usually go over in the late afternoon so I can eat dinner before the parade and then I stay for the concert. I really enjoy myself when I go.

The Mardi Gras nights are part of the regular daily admission to Universal Studios, no extra entry charge. The festivities usually start late afternoon with costumed actors walking around and live music from a local band playing. The parade starts a little after sundown with the main concert after that. It can get very crowded.
