I am planning a trip to the WDW in March.... Its mardi gras here and we will be out of school for a few days!

My question is has anyone been at this time? Was it hard getting a reservation at the 7th month window?

Please fill me in on anything you can tell me! This will be our first time going home to DVC and I already have 2 studios at OKW. But I really, really, really want to stay at VWL!!!! From your experiences, do you think this will be hard?

Depends on when in March. Since you are talking Mardi Gras, I assume it's early. We like early March at WDW, but it is definitely more crowded than January or February. Usually decent weather, but it can be wet sometimes. It's also a fairly high point time, but we like to combine WDW with baseball spring training, so we just suck it up and use the points.

I have noticed that it's in the higher point range which surprised me... But flower festival also starts then... But what about scheduling? Is it hard season to get booked 7 months out?

Spring break starts in early March in many states around the U.S. The heaviest crowds are during the middle two weeks and Easter week. I would think you would have a chance at making a reservation at the 7 month mark, but still not have a selection of villas at every resort. I would think that during spring break, BCV would book up first (SAB being the main attraction).

Keep in mind that members switching from their home resort to another can also free up rooms. So if there isn't a villa available at the resort you want at the 7 month mark, that afternoon or in the next couple of days rooms might be available.

Thanks for the info! I'm really hoping for VWL... I'm taking my parents and we have never been able to stay anywhere other than POP. So it would be awesome if I'll be able to switch our reservations!

Hi neighbor!! We're from Houma!!! We go to Disney at Mardi Gras every year (and summer, and one year 3rd trip at Christmas---yes I know we go alot---LOL). We've own DVC for about 4 years now. We are determined to hit all the DVC resorts but own SSR. We have never had a problem getting a switch at 7 months,even when mardi gras was President's week. Just be on the phone with MS at exactly your 7month mark.
Now we haven't stayed at VWL yet, I'm hoping for next summer, but I know it's been said it has the smallest number of DVC units. Sending pixie dust your way, hoping u get VWL.
FYI--We stayed at OKW our first DVC visit---WOW! We loved it. We went from staying at values to owning DVC. So IMO any DVC resort will blow you away!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey Houma! Don't you just love the mardi gras holiday?! We've only gone one time during this time of year and it seemed like it was nothing but louisiana people I loved it! I can't wait! Plus the weather was great!

We too wanna stay at all of
the resorts too! I really want to stay at BLT but it's just not in the cards this time. But I will soon! Thanks again!
