Has anyone heard who the performers are going to be? Or, does anyone know where to find this out other than the Universal site. That site does not have any updated info yet. Thanks, I am going to be there 2-19-05 thru 2-24-05.

02/12/05 - Go-Go's
02/19/05 - Kevin Lyttle
03/05/05 - Creedence Clearwater Revisited
03/12/05 - Lynyrd Skynyrd
04/09/05 - Huey Lewis & The News

No one knows yet except for the dates and bands listed in the post above. Universal hasn't released the list yet. The list posted was found by members from IOACentral looking through PollStar and lots of searching.

You'll have to wait until either Universal announces the final list or until it leaks out elsewhere.

SO we get the Go-Gos while we are there, hmmm, lol Does anyone know how busy the parks get on these nights? Is it really crazy?

At the parade its gets pretty crazy pretty big crowds

Besides Kevin Lyttle, they're all old skool bands. I dunno, none of those names make me say wow.
They did the same thing last year, we talked about it on this message board, then they changed some of the groups at the last minute. You'd think they could get some newer talent since it's Universal. I went to a JingleBall concert in South Florida a few weeks ago and made a web site. These are some of the bands that should be appearing.

I actually think this lineup sounds more fun than last years lineup, and we only know about half of the performers. (I check pollstar.com every couple days to see if any new acts pop up.)

During the day, crowds are moderate, fairly busy, but not insane. As the day approaches night, it seems to get much busier and the parade and cocnerts are usually packed.

I went on your link... Black Eyed Peas were there last year, do you think Universal would have them 2 years in a row???

Black Eye Peas where great last year as was sean paul but to be honest the atmosphere at mardi parade time is great and really even the local bands had the crowd jumping before the main act :cool1:

I posted this above. Nothing has changed.

Just an interesting side note - The Go Go's will be appearing in a New Orleans parade on Feb. 2nd. They are riding as guests of the krewe and are doing a post-parade concert.

They must be making a "comeback" of sorts - that, or they are really into this Mardi Gras thing! :rockband:

Does anyone know historically how far in advance the bands are announced? Should it be soon?

They usually wait until they have finished the last special celebration (in this case, after Grinchmas.) They didn't announce anything about Grinchmas until after Halloween Horror Nights was over a few days. Since the last day of Grinchmas was today, Jan. 8th. I would suspect they will announce something by next weekend or possibly earlier.

Black Eyed Peas wasn't that great. Last year, they had the hit single with Justin Timberlake. Now they're on their own, it was a bunch of yelling. The first few bands in my web page did the best, one of them wasn't even in there. His name is Ryan Cabrera and he rocked. Wish I had taken pictures, but it was very early in the concert, and I didn't think to bring out the camera.

Switchfoot was great, Hilary Duff was good, and then it was just ok for the rest of the pop acts.

I think they need a rock edge. If they brought out Ryan Cabrera and Switchfoot the house would rock. Only problem is, they'd need some pop band to bring the kids in, like Alicia Keys or Hillary Duff.
