Marching into March: Exercise Challenge!

Still more color changes... this is the last full week of March! Everyone is doing awesome and I've been inspired/motivated by everyone. Thanks for sharing your struggles and successes alike. It's been fun hosting.

I have been occasionally getting a different number adding up - 5 or ten minutes difference most of the time - so I try to take the higher number of the two, but please feel free to PM me or just post if I need to change something. I am here to serve. :)

Another fun question for the day:
What is a new sport, exercise, class, activity, etc. that you would like to try in the near future?

Hubs and I crossed cross country skiing off the list (bah haha, get it?:rotfl:) so the next one I'm looking at is paddleboarding. No idea where or when that will happen! but it looks really fun.

What about you?

I'm with you on that one. There's a bunch of places around here that teach it, so I just have to get off my butt and sign up.

And I've also never tried a boot camp class, mainly because I haven't wanted to injure myself and not be able to run. But I think I'll take a shot at them over the summer when it's a million degrees outside!:hyper:

Went to the doc yesterday about my stuffy ears. She gave me a prescription for Sudafed. I was just thinking that if I could still just buy it off the shelf I wouldn't have had to pay so much for the office visit/prescription!!!! Is it banned everywhere or just in our little meth capitol of the world state?

In good news she referred me to physical therapy for my behind the knee pain which has kept me from running. Will be very glad to get that fixed. I was severly chastised for running on it and she even wanted me to stop walking! where's the gasping smilie?! :scared: Fortunately one of my walking groups has everybody out of town next week, so that will slow me way down! Need to break out my anatomy book and figure out which tendon she said is acting up!

Answer: I need to break out my inline skates and try that again. It's been decades since I used them.

Final days, People. We can do it! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I forgot to put up my numbers yesterday.

One hour swimming/ hot tubbing so really 45 minutes and one hour of Zumba.

15 minute snowball fight with my kids who had a 2 hour delay.

875/1250

I would like to try kayaking as we live in the perfect area. I will see about getting away sans kids to check it out. Snowshoeing looks great.
I would love to try that as well.

Well, no numbers to report for me yet, I'm having an internal debate about whether I'm getting a cold and should rest instead of run or if I should get the run in now bfore it gets worse (usually rest won't stop it!).

But to answer the question- this is sorta lame but my new "activity" is going to be my first 5k and first 10k and first non Disney race! I've never done any races other than the wine and dine half and I'm super nervous about running in my hometown in a shorter race. I'm anonymous and in my "safe place" when I'm in Disney!

90 minute walk today brings me to 1014/1400

I have a question for the group. The amount of exercise minutes achieved is so inspiring and I'm just curious....how do you fit it all in? With work, family, life, I don't feel I do a very good job with time management. Do you do it before work or before you start your day or do you just make sure to schedule it somewhere in the day? Thanks for your input :)

Hi dis*mom- I know what you are saying- I barely fit in my goal minutes of 800. I know 800 is still good but it's not 2000, or 3000 like some people. Personally around 800-1000 is literally all I can squeeze in and I am ok w that. I mostly workout at night while DH gives DS a bath and gets him ready for bed. Sometimes DS will be patient w me and let me do a DVD which he actually "does" with me. And other times I just squeeze in a few minutes here and there where I can (like brushing my teeth, situps before bed, etc). Before having my son I worked out a lot more - nearly every day after work for at least an hour but now with dh at a new job early in the am and a young child who needs to be watched and driven everywhere, I just try my best to do what I need to fit it in. I do stick to at least three workouts a week no excuses tho- I think my family can "give" me at least that much time for my health. It's also why I like running and circuit training-hard workout in a short amount of time. I have a treadmill in my basement too- that helps when dh is out of town so I can run once DS is asleep.

Step class for an hour & 30 minutes of weightlifting puts me at

Plutobaby- what did u decide about your half? Did I tell u I had to drop out of the pgh half/relay for may? Im going to do the 5k. Tough decision but I just couldn't push up to that mileage that quick w my knees. Disappointing but the right choice. I might do the Cleveland 10k two weeks after instead.

Bought a Wii and ordered 2 Just Dance games for the days I am not in the gym. Waiting for the games to come. :)
Lost my first line. 90 minutes gym and treadmill.

Hi all! I did a good work out this morning with my daughter who is doing after school conditioning, so she's teaching me some moves! 60 minutes today.

Now, I kinda feel like I wasted it all away because we had a delicious lunch at Carrabba's today. I'm so full!! But it's our anniversary, so we figured we had to have some kind of fun! :cool1:
