Can someone tell me about Disney World during the month of March? We are considering an adults only trip for mid month next year. I know it is Spring Break. How bad are the crowds? What's the weather like? Is it a good time for a romantic trip or are we crazy?

I visited with my son for Canadian March Break a few years ago. It was really crazy. At one point in the studios we could barely move, we didn't know there was a dance competition going on at the Indiana Jones stage and the place was full of little (beautiful) dancers with sparkles and really high pitched voices :headache:. It was a lot of work getting around and ride lines were very long. Last day with no fast pass, DS wanted to ride splash mountain, we waited over 2 hours for that. I would recommend you avoid the extra magic hours park or get park hopping (or both) so you have an option to move if the park you are in is too busy. But if that's the only time you can go, then at least you'll be at WDW. Spend most of your time at Epcot, and book grown up type dining 180 days out. Good luck!:goodvibes

First week in March would be your best bet. It does get crowded for Spring Break. Not like summer crowds but its enough to notice a spike in attendance

i agree with HM2012Butler. We just were there from February 27th - March 11th. The first week was a complete ghost town, maybe the lowest crowds we have seen (we usually go in October and then early/mid February or May). It definitely did start to pick up some towards the end of the second week, as i imagine the spring break crowds were starting but still nothing too crazy.

Mid-March? Pretty crowded. Josh over at easywdw.com actually just recently wrote an article about March 16th wait times at each of the parks. You can check it out here: http://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/spring-break-2016-disney-world-crowds-have-arrived/

Spoiler alert: It's pretty nuts. Since it is adults only, you have the great luxury of going when kids are in school. My advice is to go a week right after kids go back (week after labor day week after they go back in January etc.) or in February (making sure to avoid Presidents Day).

We were just there March 8-13. The actual crowd level seemed similar to our last trip over July 4th, but wait times were much worse. World Showcase was ridiculously crowded due to F&G. Our weather was very nice - not warm enough to swim to me, but my DD(6) had no problem with the water temp. No rain all week, a bit cool some of the evenings. March weather is very unpredictable though. We definitely preferred July (but I know the heat isn't for everyone, doesn't bother us). If it were just adults I would avoid March.

Going at end of March, so certainly with children's schedules, as well as most, I am gathering it will be swamped. Now at least Spring Breaks are spread over a good month, so not bad as certain other times, or even summer, but as usual, I am planning for the masses and hope to be pleasantly surprised with a hair less :)

Just back myself...was there March 9-15. I'd say it was fairly crowded, but certainly manageable. The main things to worry about crowd-wise is spring break and the week before and after Easter. Since I was there spanning part of two spring break weeks, it was interesting to see that a lot of the northeastern schools seemed to be off the week of March 6 and more midwestern the week of March 13. I'm sure that's a great generalization, but ... There was also a large cheerleaders competition during the period I was there, but I suspect that goes on quite a bit with different organizations.

Also, we're now in the week before Easter. I would expect the parks to get very crowded this week (9 and 10 level at times); more so towards the end of the week, with the big crowds continuing well into next week. While the spring breaks last week and the week before were mostly college breaks, the Easter break will mostly be school age breaks.

In 2017, Easter will be April 16. If I was planning a trip then (and I might), I'd be inclined to go the second half of March. The college breaks should be over and the Easter break will not have started.

But, these days it seems Disney is always busy...

My DD did MK on March 11. If was the first day of Prime season on MKs calendar.
She said it was crowded, but they were able to every ride except 3, and all the shows except 3. They even did some of the headliners more than once. And they didn't use a single FP.

It wouldn't be my first choice to go then, but if you are patient, its doable

I have heard the first week is a great time to to. Really low crowds, great weather. It gets busy near the middle to end of March.
