I had wanted to plan our trip for November, but hubby thinks that March is a better time to go. I'm worried about March being a really popular time of year for traveling - people are sick of winter, etc. ;) It seems like everyone goes south in March but I'm not sure how that affects WDW. For anyone who's gone in March, what was your experience like?

Also, from a financial perspective, I'm wondering which time of year you are apt to get better deals on airfare, etc. TIA!!

If it matters, we're considering the Disney Cruise - but I didn't post this in that forum because I specifically am wondering about how busy it was at WDW.

We went this March 4 - 11 and loved it. The crowds weren't too bad, but that's b/c Easter is late this year.

When making your decision, look at the dates for President's Day, Mardi Gras, and Easter. If they are close together, I might pick another time. We paid $59 each way with Southwest, from Philly to MCO. We didn't have a single drop of rain, and most of the days were in the 70s and 80s.

I haven't been in Nov., but I've gone 2x in Dec. The lights and decorations cannot be beat. Dec. was a little cold, in the 50s to 70s.

Good luck!

Thank you so much! Wow, you got some good rates!

I've heard that the decorations are so pretty. I was considering the week after Thanksgiving, but that is a busy time on the airlines with people traveling back home from Thanksgiving. Good advice about the holiday in March - I hadn't even thought of that. I thought of Spring break, but I'm not sure Spring break really matters since those are college kids.

After Thanksgiving was one of the most enjoyable times I have spent at WDW. Crowd level is at the lowest I have ever seen. Temperatures were cool most mornings and pleasant the rest of the day. Since I have not been in March I cannot offer a difference in opinion. The only other perk for this time of year is with the beginning of December the Christams decorations usually come out and its really a shift in experience.

You are really, really making me want to book a December trip now. :santa: :goodvibes

I wouldn't care about the temps being 50-70 degrees. I think I would prefer that to 85-95 degree temps, if I had my choice.

How are the incentives for December? Do they offer any incentives or deals for that time of year?

We were there the week of thanksgiving in 2007 and our weather was nice. i wore shorts and capri's the entire week and jeans at night - it did get cool.
we thought the crowds were manageable. we are early risers, so we were typically at rope drop in the mornings and then back to pool in the afternoon for a little before heading out in the evening. Everything is all decorated for the holidays and it is beautiful!
our next trip -- we were there March 8-14. Perfect weather - 80 and sun, not a drop of rain. i thought the crowds were low (except the saturday we were coming home, MK was packed) we walked on a lot of things. We did fast pass some of the more popular attractions, but overall - out best trip yet!! i definitely think with easter being so late this year, that really helped with the crowds. it was definitely warmer during march, we even bought a spray mister fan (our 6 year old had to have it).
i don't think you can go wrong. good luck!!
Shannon :-)
