My family cruised this past March 15-22 on the Explorer of the seas. The weather was nice and warm but due to the windy weather when we docked in Grand Cayman most of the water excursions like snorkeling, swimming with the stingrays, etc were cancelled. They kept the land based tours but if you had an excursion that was land and sea they gave you a credit back on the sea portion but continued with the land based tours. We didn't mind but my husband was very disappointed that he has not been able to snorkle on two of our last cruises due to the rough water. Our previous cruise the beginning of april 2001 we had to pass Grand Cayman completely. It was hard sitting out on our balcony and you were close enough to the island to just sit back and watch as we sailed on by. This next year we are going the middle of May as we have had better luck with the seas in the summer months. I hope this helps.
