Ok.........I'm seeing really cold on Sat the 11th. Well, a high of 16. I'm liking the 20's much better! This week (Quebecs break)) its high 20s all week. C'mon Canucks, let's do the warm sunny dance.........:banana::banana::banana:

Accuweather lists March 11th as a high of 23 ... low of 9! I can live with that! But keep dancing!

I will dance, and dance and dance to have weather comparable to last year!:banana::banana::banana:
Thinking warm happy thoughts, warm happy thoughts!
I was looking at our flight today on Allegiant, which has been sitting at about 3/4's full, it is no longer available on there, so I am going to make sure I am at the airport early even though it is a small airport. What are the chances of getting bumped when you have paid for seat selection and all? We don't come back til the 23rd, and that flight is fine! Our friends that are flying with us are doing March Break dates, the 10th to the 17th (sat to sat) and both of their flights are no longer available eithier! Fingers crossed nothing changes!

We arrived at WH a week ago and everyday we have been able to sit around the pool and swim. Friday, they said it would be rainy and in the 60's! Turned out to be partly cloudy with plenty of sun and the temp hit 80! Way too early to predict what March break will be like and even then, they don't seem to get it right! Just like at home :lmao:

Greenclan, I have been on overbooked flights and always during March Break. Best thing is to arrive early and get your boarding pass. Once you have a seat, you'll have to give it up to get bumped (usually worth another free flight in addition to your rebooked one). We got 20cm of snow this weekend so I'm dreaming of palm trees and piña coladas! :thumbsup2:beach:

So should I make sure that I check in online at the 24 hour mark then, and our flight leaves at 5:15 on Sat it is a small airport, but with that flight now showing not available, I would imagine getting there around 3 should work or even earlier at 2:30? I hate sitting in an airport, but I would hate even more to miss a day of our vacation. I will find a good book and hole up in the airport somewhere!

OH and we got a good dump of snow here on Friday, which we haven't had hardly any. It was freezing last night, and now they are calling for another clipper to fly through here tonight and tomorrow! AACK! We have to drive to Niagara Falls, NY to catch our flights, and it is a 7 hour drive, so we are hoping this crap weather gets out of the way before having to drive. Right now it is showing that it will be sunny on the Friday. We are prepared to leave Thurs night just in case, but don't really want to. My hubby wants to go into work for a few hours before leaving on Friday!

My vote is to go with the good book and arrive by 3:15. A flight at 5:15 will board at 4:45 anyways and you will have customs and security to go through. When it comes to vacation travel, err on the side of extra time. Besides, you'll bein vacation mode!

I would love 29 degree temps! We are flying out of Niagara Falls Ny on Friday March 9th. I plan on sitting at the airport 3 hours prior to the flight. I booked the seats in May 2011 and better get them! We will be staying at the Best Western Summit Inn - very close to airport.

Are you flying with Direct Air or Allegiant? We got our flights for $69 the day that Allegiant released flights for Niagara Falls into Sanford. They just started that route in mid Feb I believe! We fly the day after you, and as of yesterday they have taken that flight off the website(assuming it is sold out) I am not coming til the 23rd, but my teacher friends are doing the Sat to Sat, 10th to the 17th, and both of theirs are off the website now! We are going to be sure to be at the airport early on Sat for our 5:15 flight, and like you said,, I paid the extra for seat fees, which were not cheap, so I better get my seats!
The weather right now is something to be desired when we get there, but I know it can and WILL change! It better anyhow!
Let's all keep on thinking warms thoughts!:worship::worship::worship:to the sun Gods!

I will do the warm weather dance with you!!:cheer2:

Though I remember last year looking at the long term forecasts and freaking out because it said it was going to be cold and rainy and it was the best weather!! So I'm trying to take any weather forecasts with a grain of salt (unless they're good ones of course:))

So looking forward to this trip! This winter's been so yucky!!

greenclan67- We're flying Direct Air. I thought we paid $69 but I just printed off the receipt and we paid $79. I paid $10 for seat selection. We are staying at Windsor Hills and plan on visiting Seaworld and Busch Gardens. We also will drive to Siesta Key Beach - it is supposed to be the best beach in USA.
My kids are just getting over high fevers and cold. I hope they are healthy for the trip and flying.
I'm also waiting for the bank to call. I'm the victim of debit card fraud!!! I guess some jerks copied my card and spend around $1100 on the weekend. I just pray that this get's settled before we leave and get my money back.

OMG of course why not go insane 2 weeks before vacation! We are doing SW, BG and Fort de Soto park beach! We are also doing the leafs game on the 15th and Discovery Cove!
My kids are just now and myself getting over the cold we had last week! I have everyone on germ check! NO more colds/flus before or during holidays!

greenclan67 - Did you buy the Leaf tickets online? How much are they? We are also thinking of going. The only problem is we leave Friday morning REALLY early. My husband told the kids we could watch it on TV. We don't have cable so when we go to Florida the kids love watching junk tv!

Did you buy the SW/BG combo tix yet? I noticed there is a deal for Canadians - get one park for free

I'm still waiting for hear from the bank. I want this settled so I can focus on vacation time........

my kids are getting better. I just pray this cold doesn't turn into an ear infection. I will keep the kids rested and hydrated.

oh and I'm trying not to check the weather until next week.

Hey fitmom,
Yes we bought tickets to the leafs game at stubhub.com, do a search for tampa lightening tickets and they will come up on that site. We did that one year as well. Our last night, went to a hockey game and had to fly home early the next day. I just had everything mostly packed up that day., and we went to the beach in the afternoon and to the game that night, kids slept in the car on the way back and right into bed. I had about an hour of packing and cleaning up when we got back, drying bathing suits and stuff. It worked. Yes we did buy the BG/SW canadian offer, 1 day each at each park! But I also have a season pass for SW/BG so I only had to buy 3 tickets. I did both park season passes, to get discounts for my family members coming to Discovery Cove with us, and they just all chipped in so much each to cover the difference from a 1 day park to a AP, plus my parking is free this way, and we get 10% off food and merchandise. They still got there DC day for $69 I hope the bank gets everything settled for you. My hubby is away this week for work, so I fee like I am getting everything ready myself, but oh well, before long I will be in vacation mode.
I have DRs appts for my girls Mon, cause they have both been complaining about there ears since having this cold, and my youngest, her ears really bother her when flying, so better to be safe then sorry!
There is a Jays game on the 11th at Disneys Wide world of sports as well if you are interested in that instead!
Countdown is on!

It's looking much better. Mid to high 20s next week and plenty of sun. With another 10cm of snow forecasted tomorrow into Thursday, this forecast is the only thing keeping me sane!

We are calling for 10 to 15 tomorrow to, and my hubby is away for work, so guess who has to shovel the driveway!!!!:scared:
I do like the look of the forecast better today then yesterday. The 14 is or DC day, so please be nice, please be good!! But we all know, that until you are there, the weather is the weather! My niece is in Florida right now, she went down Sat, and said it rained and was cold for her first 2 days! Poor girl!

Weather is looking better and better. My sister is in Orlando now and they are expecting record breaking heat this weekend....:rotfl2:
