Thinking of going for the CDN March break in 2009. Have some questions..
1. Are we crazy?? Is it really busy??
2. What is the weather like? Our kids love to swim and we usually go May/ Sept/ Oct.
3. Are flights from Buffalo impossible to get??

We were there in 2006 during March break. The theme parks were crazy (we hitted the parks late though, around 11:30am or so). There was a 120 minute wait to take a picture at Ariel's Grotto :scared: :scared:

We were there again for two weeks (WDW + DCL Wonder) during March break this year. This time we took DD4 out of school early (3 days prior to official March Break), and we were at the parks early (9am or so). Everything went very smooth - 5 min wait for Ariel, 10 min for Dumbo, and Fast Passes were also a big help.

But one thing though - during the peak days (i.e. Mar 14 onwards) we were already on Disney Wonder (although it was crowded too) :thumbsup2

Oops...the weather. It really depends. We were not too luckily this year since it was a bit cool (say 16-20c) and lots of rains. But I think usually March is warm.

Hi, We have gone 5 times during Ont March break. The weather has always been great. The parks can be crowded just have a touring plan! We fly out of TO which is busy. You will have a great time. Just remember if you stay home everything is crowded as well.

We where there the tail end of last years March break and it was a zoo, you could not move at MK. The line ups where crazy.

We got flights out of Buffalo but alot more then we usually pay, but then alot less then out of Canada. I think for 4 of us it was about $1500.

We went this past March break and it really wasn't cold at all (for me anyways). I don't like the heat.

Anyways, we went to the pool a few times. The crowd seemed manageable, although it was definitely busier than our usual October trips.

The biggest plus for me was the weather, it didn't rain too much, it wasn't hot or humid or muggy. It wasn't too uncomfortable waiting for rides since it wasn't too hot.

By the way, this is my time. My husband's time is in August. He loves the heat:sad2: .

For our August trip I know I'll be at the pool most of the time. I know I'll be melting.

We went March Break 2006 and 2007.

1. Are we crazy?? Is it really busy?? Just avoid EMH, go early to the parks
2. What is the weather like? Our kids love to swim and we usually go May/ Sept/ Oct.I found the mornings cool but the rest of the day is fine. Swimming in the main pool at CBR was great, but the quiet CBR pools and FQ pool was really cold.
3. Are flights from Buffalo impossible to get??We easily got flights, just booked as soon as the dates came up. We took Southwest for $54, but those days are gone

Hi
We go during the March Break and find the weather beautiful .
The crowds are busy but in my opinion not much different than other times of the year,,we do make use of the Extra Magic Hours (EMH). My sons love swimming at the quiet pools at OKW.:goodvibes :goodvibes
Have fun planning
Hugs Mel

We are also thinking of going then. Would love to know everyones answers to the OP's questions.

Sorry I hated March break time. We usually go Apr/May and although I don't really like the heat I found March break way to cool. It rained a ton and every day just seemed really dull.

Hi!

We have been traveling to WDW during March Breaks for the last 20 years and have just had 2 years when the weather was cool and rainy. Last year was one of them. It wasn't bad, but definitely not as sunny and warm as it usually is. Yes, you can do the parks using a few tips. First always visit the park without the early admission and be there 1/2 hour before the parks open. They will usually open the park early when the line ups reach a certain stage. Make sure your accommodations have a heated pool and a hot tub or spa is wonderful. If renting a house definitely pay the extra for pool heat. Be prepared for crowds! Actually it is a blast because you will probably see more people from Canada then Americans and I alway bump into someone I know! Fly from one of the US border cities if you can and book as soon as the flights are posted. March Break flight prices do not go down! They usually go up and in some cases almost double the closer you get to March. The airlines know they can fill them with Canucks travelling last minute. Good Luck and Have a good time! pixiedust:

Hi, we are going for the first time next March Break. We are flying out of Buffalo. We are considering either Southwest or JebBlue. Are either airlines reliable for that time, being in the middle of winter? TIA.

Went last March break also...we usually go first week of March but DD is in highschool now so we where forced to go during Ontario Marchbreak. Found it to be not to busy in comparison to Presidents week ....that was busy. It was our 10th year at WDW and we found it completely tolerable....was a great trip...a little cool on some days but pretty nice. With the US economy as it is right now the crowds where lighter than usual according to cast members....will likely be the same this year....have a great trip...we'll be there to!:thumbsup2

We were there last March Break too and found the crowds not too bad. the only really busy day was the day we went to MK which I think was the Thursday. We are planning to go again this year and stay on site this time. We can only go on the March Break too because I teach.

We've been March Break a couple of times. It is not too crazy, although, you have to get to the parks early and use fastpass as much as possible. (have a fast pass runner, and get a second one before using the first)

My kids don't like waiting for characters, so we usually don't. I just make sure I book a couple of character meals so they get their fix that way.

My boys always manage to swim. Being from Northern Ontario they will swim as soon as it gets above 15 degrees C and the sun is shining.

I have taken SW out of Buffalo. You just have to book as soon as the flights come out. I waited a day or 2 to decide on my exact dates and ended up paying at least $50 more per ticket.

We are going to St. Petes and Universal for the week before the break and the week of the break in 2009. I can get Delta flights for $761 for 4 of us right now. I'm not sure if I trust Delta not to make too many changes to the flight, or if I should just wait for SW.
