Ok for all you recent March/April Western Carribean cruisers...What was the weather like? More sunny or less sunny? Ocean water warm enough for snorkeling and swimming. Beach play? Also was the ship full because of spring break?

I have a spring break cruise booked for next year and just want to get an idea of what excursions I should book(beach, snorkeling, ruins tours). :cool1:

Our destinations will be Costa Maya, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, CC.

we just did the 5 Night Western this Springbreak. the weather wasn t great. it was really windy on the ship and Grand Cayman was terrible. Every excursion was cancelled. we walked around town but it was nasty out. Cozumel was high 70s and sunny. we were on the Wonder out of Miami and had a wonderful time though. we really enjoyed all the activities and never felt it was too crowded. by the way it was March 25th. last year we did the 7 night eastern April 6th and had awesome weather. we went snorkeling and the water was cold but it was so hot out that it was refreshing.

We just did the Western Carribean from Miami over Spring Break. We sailed 3/30-4/4. We heard that the cruise before and after us didn't have great weather, but ours was fantastic. 80-85 everyday. Water was not warm but wasn't cold. Snorkeling was great. It was Spring Break but you would never know by the crowds. Absolute best trip of my life.

Ok sounds like I have some hope of having good weather. Hit or miss. hopefully we hit the week we go.

Were the ship pools cold too? Were you able to at least enjoy them even if the weather was windy?

We are on the Fantasy Western Caribbean trip over Spring Break next year. From my extensive climitalogical research, it's one of the best times to cruise as far as weather is concerned. I don't know when your Spring Break is, but ours is April 12-19. Warm temps, but not extremely hot (mid to upper 80's), very little rain and ocean temps in the upper 70's to low 80's. I tracked the weather this year during the same week and it was spectacular. Not that this year's weather means anything for next year, but as far as "normals" or "averages" go, it's very good for weather. Of course you pay extra for that time of year. If you are on the Fantasy leaving PC on April 12 2014, be sure to check out our FB page an our Disney Cruise Meet page.

We went on the Western itinerary last April 7-14th and the weather was beautiful everywhere we went ( Port Canaveral, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Castaway). CC was overcast, but warm. Seas were calm, water was very warm. Hopefully we will get as lucky when we cruise in November :)

We were on the Eastern over our spring break this year on the 3/23 cruise. The weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! CC was nice also. I don't go in the water because it's too cold for me but the kids & DH went in as usual.

The pools are heated. The Goofy pool was cooler than Quiet Cove. I saw somewhere the pool water temp was 101. Didn't feel that hot but it was perfect when the cool breeze was on you and your lounging in the pool. Just perfect.

We were on a western cruise DCL 3 years ago. The winter had been tough....so we were told we had some of the best weather, so far that year. Our cruise was Easter week, first week in April. Temperatures were nice mid 80's. The first port was Cozumel, the water was cooler then expected about 79-81. But, you could get used to it quickly. Grand Cayman seemed a little warmer and CC's was the coolest, but okay.

Overall weather beautiful....water temp, nice, but I like 84 and up.;)

We did western Caribbean last year over spring break and the weather was fantastic, doing it next year on Fantasy. This year we were in south Florida for spring break and the weather was iffy. No guarantees. We were on the wonder over Christmas 12 and the weather was unreal. Sunny and in the 80s and 90s.

I was on Fantasy 3/30-4/6 and the weather was great pretty much the entire trip. Cool at night if you're outside, but otherwise very nice.

Pools are heated, but the first splash on AquaDuck was colder than I expected. The water at Castaway Cay was also colder than expected, but it was cloudy (apparently a storm had passed through the night before), so perhaps that's part of the reason.

Obviously the weather isn't guaranteed, but I wouldn't hesitate cruising again at that time of year.

Forgot that we also did the MV western 3/31/12 cruise. We also had fantastic weather last year. It honestly is hit or miss any week. The captain is usually good about avoiding the storms. Of course Sandy was handled differently...

Thanks so much everyone!:cool1:

We are on the 3/31-4/4/14 Fantasy cruise next year so it looks like we have a shot at good weather. Being in the NW that is what we aim for on our vacations!

We just got back a few days ago from the 4/13/13 western Fantasy--had absolutely perfect weather. Warm, sunny and no rain!
