March/April/May?

I’m starting to plan a short trip to Disneyland in the new year. We’ve been in September (loved the weather) and at the end of December/start of January (cold and want to avoid).

Right now I’m thinking end of March or sometime in April.

The catch is that I’m 14 weeks pregnant right now. I’ve travelled at 28 weeks preggo without issue (Las Vegas and involved a lot of walking) and if all things continue to go well, I don’t foresee any issues travelling that late in the game again. I’m just trying to determine how far back I want to push our dates to allow for optimal warm weather. We’re planning a few days at Disney and then a couple of days enjoying the hotel/pool. Unless Disney hotels comes out with a great deal, it’s looking like the HoJo as there seems to be lots of water play areas.

I know weather can go either way, but if I was to play the odds, will it be pool weather at the end of March, or even throughout April? Or should I push it until the first week of May (if I get the go ahead from my doc obviously) in hopes the weather will warm up a bit.

I’ll be 29 weeks at the end of March (which is when I prefer to go as I want a vacation sooner rather than later). The first week of May I’ll be 35 weeks. My daughter was two days late, but 35 weeks is getting awfully close to full term…

TIA!

Keep in mind certain airlines may restrict your flight plans depending on how far along you are... 34-36 weeks seems to be outer range of "acceptable" for some airlines.

As far as when pool weather will start, that's a hard one! A previous poster has already linked to Hydroguy's link of historical weather. When I went in early May 2 years ago, it wasn't warm enough to relax at the pool for very long... Days were warm enough to wear t-shirts out in the parks, but I never once thought, "Gee, a dip in the pool would be great right now!"

Just keep in mind Easter is April 5th, so a lot of spring breaks will be landing around the end of March/early April. Last April I went to Europe while 26 months pregnant (to visit family). It was a horribly uncomfortable flight for me, but our 3 year old loved it! Haha. This second pregnancy was so different, and so much harder than my first. We had a nice trip and nothing went wrong, but I really hated the flights and I caught a cold on the plane. Keep in mind the hotter it is the more tired/swollen and yucky you might feel. Good luck, I hope you get to enjoy a trip before the new baby comes.
