It will vary--perhaps significantly--from city to city. FWIW, our fares this past March are the highest we have paid for STL-MCO flights at around $350 per person and they NEVER went on sale or came down.
It always suprises me that my cousin can fly from Pittsburgh to Orlando which is a 2 hour flight cheaper than I can fly from B'ham to Orlando which is a 1 hour flight.
Seems like if I were closer to the destination my fare would be less- both flights are direct so there is no additional take off and landing fees- I just rationalize: shorter distance equals less fuel equals cheaper fare- but I suppose Southwest doesnt see it that way.
Seems to me like the fares from B'ham were about $350 round trip as well- I do remember a Ding fare coming out I think for the week before but I'm not positive.
Just wanted to know if anybody had a guess as to what I could expect for airfare this spring.
Expensive. It was $350 or so (each) from Chicago-Midway. I had a voucher so I didn't really care, but I will say that if you see a discount early, go for it. The spring break fares never seem to come down.
Airfare for October from B'ham is $250 round trip..... at what March will look like..... May have to consider driving.....Friends tell me that they can drive it in 9 hours but I havent ever made it in less than 12 and this trip we will be travelling with a 2 yo and a 3 month old so the thoughts of driving just make me quiver.
