March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Hey all - just keeping us on page one I hope...

Hope all is well - the nuclear summit in DC is keeping me home again today; our building is across the street from the convention center where the meetings are and in the "secure zone" so driving around there would be nightmareish, as well as getting thru security to park there, so my boss said we could work from home if we needed to.

And Katie's lice came back...so I'm calling in the pros to get rid of it. I can't keep going through this. ugh... so gross.

So...as you can tell, not my usual chipper self this morning. Need my coffee after Ryan gets on the bus... that will help.

Ciao for now, J:)

OMGoodness..... What page were we on?

Lisa & Amy~ Are you getting the party planned on the boat for Fat Tuesday?

With so many of us from Louisiana onboard for Mardi Gras, I'm sure we'll have something planned. We'll most likely fly SWA to Orlando so bringing beads shouldn't be an issue.!

We got back from our 10-Day Ruby Princess cruise on 3/30. While other boats are nice (Ruby Princess and Celebrity Solstice), nothing beats the Disney atmosphere and service. I'm looking forward to this upcoming cruise!

Good Morning to all my fellow cruisemates:hug:
Well it would appear that spring has made it to Western Nebraska (for the time being anyways lol) we even had a little thunderstorm roll through yesterday!!
Things are starting to green up here, guess that means yard work is here as well UGHHHH!

The girls and I just got back last night from a 3 day trip to Lincoln.. AGAIN!!! Seems like we have been making that trip lot..this time we went for Emily to compete for State FCCLA which stands for.... Family Career and Community Leaders of America her project she chose was in Interior Design...she had to design/decorate a living space for a young family starting out, her design board won Districts here locally, so she was able to compete at the State Level....and she actually won State as well with it!!!!
So now she gets to represent the State of Nebraska in Interior Design at Nationals which is in Chicago this year...so she is pretty excited!! It is in July which is a pretty poor time for us farmers, as that is Harvest month....so unfortunately Ron will not be able to go , which is a real bummer!!!! But Kaylee and I are really looking forward to going to the Windy City..have never been there before, but hear it is fun :)

Donna...did your kids compete in FCCLA?????

Johnna...sorry to hear about Katie's head lice..that really stinks!!!!! I remember when Kaylee was in 4th grade they sent out notes that a couple of the kids in her school had head lice and that we had to watch for it...I was FREAKING out at the thought that Kaylee could get it (which thankfully she did not ) so I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you and how much you must HATE that Katie has to go through that !!!!! I'm sorry !!!!:flower3:

Tinker.....I do NOT know when Southwest will open dates for our trip...will keep an eye out though and if I see anything I will let you know :thumbsup2

And to everyone else......a big Hello :goodvibes hope all is well

Hey All,

Just wanted some feedback on your opinions on Dreams Unlimited.

We booked onboard last year and are wondering if anyone has an agent that they recommend? I want to talk to someone to find out what kind of OBC they will give us on our reservation.

Thanks for your feedback!!

Wanda

Okay... feeling like a thread killer now.... how is everyone?

Okay... feeling like a thread killer now.... how is everyone?

LOL Oh Wanda...you are funny!!!!!
But I so know what you are thinking/saying...I have told Ron that same thing before about me after posting a post without any following post for several days, and NO you are NOT a thread killer..I just think our thread is not as busy right now simply because the cruise is still so far away, and fellow cruise mates (including myself) are not checking it everyday!!!

But to answer your original post about a TA, for our 2009 cruise we did transfer our on board reservation. We went through Sue Ellen at Dreams Unlimited, and was very happy with her, this is the same agent that Mark and Johnna always use. We received a $200 on board credit as well!!!! It WAS very easy to do..... but I understand that it has changed some since then.

I intend to transfer our reservation to her as well for this cruise (we too book on board) but just haven't done so as of yet!!!!! Probably should be getting that done LOL!!!!!

So Wanda you can Hold your head high,
and know that you are NOT a thread killer LOL!!!!! :)

Thanks Brenda....
Johnna... could you share Sue Ellen's email with us? I want to send her an email and just ask what kind of OBC we could actually get!

Thanks!!:)

Hi Everyone just checking in.
Wanda~ Sue Ellen is no longer with Dreams I have been told. Johnna does have her e-mail though. She has gone into a smaller agency. I do hear that since Disney has changed the policy and are not giving agents the full commission on a transfer booking, that the TA's are now not offering the same SBC on a transfer ressie as an orginal booking one. Now DCL IS still allowing you to keep the discount and the SBC you get from them, but it is the TA's that have dropped or eliminated what they are giving on transfers. I hope that makes since...;)

Tink is right - Sue Ellen is NOT with DU any longer. I'll email her info with the spreadsheet update - which I admit I have been such a slacker on, but there hasn't been much new info to add... (where is everybody?? are we too :scared1:???)

So... I will email the spreadsheet and please let me know if I missed anyone/anything/if something is wrong/ etc.

Ciao for now... J

Oh Wanda and Brenda! Neither of you are thread killers. Spring has sprung in Missouri and I (as I'm sure so have many others) have been outside enjoying the weather every minute I can.

Tink--Not much wedding planning going on for now. Instead, doing vacation planning. Russell and I will be meeting Kristin and her fiancee at DL in California in early June. Staying at VGC for 4 nights then renting a car and going to Yosemite and San Francisco before driving back to Idaho. Russell and I will be flying home from there. We're hoping things work out and we get to see Art and Vanessa and family while we are at DL.

Brenda--My kids weren't in FCCLA. Ryan was solely focused on FFA. Kristin's main focus was sports and DECA. That is awesome about Emily! Have fun in Chicago!

Johnna--Hope Ryan's ball season is off to a great start and that you finally got those pesky head lice off of Katie. How annoying and frustrating for all of you especially Katie!

Lisa--Looking forward to that Mardi Gras celebration onboard ship!!!! Just realized we'll be celebrating Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday while onboard.

Gotta go and help Russell move equipment to the field. Corn planting time....

Just checking in.....

Johnna,

Thanks for the spreadsheet, stinks my printer is all messed up!

Just getting ready for our BIG yard sale! Mickey's wanting some dead presidents and I'm working to get him some!

Madison and I will be in Va next week for her year end field trip. If she was in the 7/8 grade we'd be going to DC. Then I could finally meet Johnna before our cruise. James would LOVE to go back to DC and I like to too.

The weather is so nice here and since we live in the "city" we are not planting anything but a couple of tomato plants.;)

My mom would laugh if I had to plant more, I dislike yard work. Shoot who am I kidding if it has the word work in it I do not like it!

Oh, time to go get Madison, see ya'll later...:grouphug:

I just had to laugh :lmao: as I live on a farm and you are planting more of a garden than me!!! We have several Amish families that live nearby that does my "gardening" for me. In fact, I went there a couple of days ago and got some fresh asparagus and some flowers to put in containers.

I don't like yard work either. LOL. Russell and I have always argued over who should mow the yard. My dad always mowed our yard so I think he should do it and his mom always mowed their yard so he thinks I should do it. Through the years, we've taken turns, had my dad mow it, hired someone to mow it, let the kids mow it, etc... Now he mows the front with the riding mower and I mow in the back by my pool with the push mower although we did talk about fencing it off for the cows to do it. :rotfl:

Have a great weekend everyone!

Just checking in and wishing everyone a Happy Spring!

Except for this weekend, our weather in south Louisiana has been awesome. I hope the birds are singing and the flowers are in bloom in your neck of the woods!

Greetings from the wet & soggy part of Western Nebraska!!!! WE have been getting our share of April showers this week, with has been nice! Everything is so bright and clean looking (after all of our nasty windy dirty days) and my yard has finally greened up!!!!

And as far as yard work goes.....Count me in on Team UGGGGG!!!!!!! I so do NOT like yard work! and....Ron being a farmer really does NOT like yard work, he says after farming all day/week he doesn't want to come home and do it (so we have it moved:thumbsup2).
Ron and I did however manage to get all the re'mulching done this week (thanks to the wet weather and Ron being home LOL) so I am glad to have that done, we did also get all the pots etc out of the garage, so once the weather straightens out I will pot them and that will pretty much be the extent of my yard work.

I guess the BIG news in the ejkj household is that Little Em got her Driviers License yesterday!!!!! She is so EXCITED!!!!!
As she was driving herself off to work yesterday I said to Ron...how did this happen it seems like just yesterday I was finally letting her ride her bicycle by herself for more then up and down the street...to Ron's reply "It was"!!!! LOL
Yes I am that mother who SMOTHERS her children....and who's kids will be writing a book about their childhood/mother when they get older!!!!!LOL

Michelle D...good luck with your tomato's, you will have to lets us know how the harvest goes LOL!!!!!
Johnna, I feel like I have NOT spoke to you for SOOOOO long! What has happen to my IBF?:sad1:

OKay...hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!!
 Hugs to all

Brenda-Tell Emily "Congratulations and to drive safely"! :dance3: They DO grow up so quickly!!!

It's been a cool and rainy weekend here in Missouri. We were needing SOME rain but I think we've gotten about 4-5 inches in the last 3 days. It's supposed to be getting back up to the upper 70s later this week which is good as I'm having my pool opened this Wednesday. Of course, we won't be able to swim until the water warms up which depends upon good ole Mother Nature as we don't have a pool heater.

Well, I signed up to run a 10K on May 8 in a nearby town. Wish me luck! I hope to get a good enough time (for me anyway) that I won't have to start in the very last corral at the Wine and Dine Half Marathon on Oct. 2 at WDW.

Donna sending you lots of luck, although I'm sure you won't need it, you will do great!!!!

Now if I was running in it....all the luck in the world would not help me...I would for sure end up in the last coral of the wHine and DIE-ing MORGUE-athon!!!!! LOL!!!!!

Donna,

I bow to you, I dislike running as much as yard work! Good Luck, I know you will do great!

Well, we went to Lowes to get the Tomato plants and ended up with.......

nothing??:rolleyes1

Guess James dislikes yard work too. By the way I think mowing is the man's job. Everytime I mow I thing my b---'s are going to either give me a black eye or just pop out for the world to see!

Brenda,

Send the girls something, sorry it took so loooooong and it was sent back. I checked the address you gave to me?? Are you refusing me, boo hoo.... I think my mail-people are mad, sad or something? I will try again, I will have to send it after I get back from Madison's field trip.

Tell Emily CONGRATS!!!!! I remeber getting my licence, wow. That was ummmmm, 22 years ago? Has it really been that long?:scared1:

Did great at the yard sale, made almost $800 buck. That was just cleaning out our closets and I did not even finish doing mine.

Well it's bedtime, past it. I hope everyone had a great weekend... Talk to you soon!

Mic

Michelle...you should know that I would NEVER refuse you!!!!! I checked my sent messages in my PM box to make sure I didn't make a mistake typing our address...and it was right...I did although send you a PM with the address again...

Mailing packages is always such a chore/pain in the booty I think, and then to have to do it twice YUK!

Tell Madison to have a great time on her field trip!

Checking in from DC!! You all have been busy and ambitious.

Donna - good luck with the running. I admire anyone who runs regularly. A friend has now done marathons on 3 continents, and I think he's trying to catch up to another friend who has done 6. I think they will do Antarctica in 2012.

And all of you doing yard work - more power to you. I HATE it more than I can say.

I'm home with Katie today - she said she had a stomach ache this morning. Unfortunately, I think she may be faking it. We really need to get that girl "The Boy who Cried Wolf" book. She's quite the actress sometimes...

Hope everyone has a great week!
Ciao for now!!
Johnna
