March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Thanks Rani and Donna:)
Looking forward to meeting all of you! A little bit about myself. I have a 10 year old and 7 year old girls and we are looking forward to our very first cruise.

Hey -- we have a 10 year old girl, too (and a 13 yr old boy). We'll have to have them exchange some emails before we go ..:surfweb:

My family will be joining you on this cruise. We were supposed to do a trip in Nov. 2010 but had to change our plans. For the better, of course.

We have been on a 7 day Magic cruise for both the Eastern and Western. Last year we went on the double dip, that was great. So, we have never been to Key West. Sounds like many of you are taking the trolley tour on your own. I think we may do that too.

Look forward to joining you all!

Just wanted to say hello. I've been reading for a little while now, and my dw (AmandaRG) has already been posting a bit. So I figured I might as well pipe up myself.

Does anyone know how far the closest trolley stop in Key West is to port? Walking distance or more of a cab ride?

We took the girls to see Disney on Ice last night, and it was fabulous! Our oldest was so excited and animated during the show. I am even more excited now for the cruise and can't wait to make even more amazing memories!!!

GettingReadyforDisney..sounds like a plan.....and welcome to the newcomers:flower3:

WOW! I am so far behind it's not even funny. I have been getting all your PMs and just need to make some time to update the spreadsheet. Give me a week or two and I'll be sure to send it to you all. I'll post on here when I send it so if you don't get it, you can let me know.

For those asking about they Key West trolley - (esp. Daleg) - the trolley stop is definitely walking distance. WARNING for anyone planning the trolley ride - kids WILL be bored. Ours were very little (5 and almost 3) and it really was just boring for them. Not saying don't do it - but just make sure your kids will be okay sitting still for a while. And they also ask you to be quiet so everyone can hear the driver/guide, so if your kids can't sit for a while and be quiet, it may not be for them.

I actually think we may stay on the ship at Key West - or only get off for a little while and shop and have a few drinks - but none of the excursions appeal to me... at least for now.

Promise to catch up on the spreadsheet as soon as I can and will let you know...

Until then... hope everyone is doing well!!

Ciao for now...
Johnna :goodvibes

Hi y'all!

Russell and I are at WDW now. Went to MK last night to see the Main Street Electrical Parade which we haven't seen in years!!!! It was so awesome! My all time favorite Disney parade. Kept thinking about the first time our kids saw it. Still have a picture of them watching it with their mouths open in awe. Good times!!!!

Today we're soaking up the sun at the pool at the Y&B resort. Then a romantic dinner for two at Shula's. Kristin arrives late tonight!!!!!!

Send us your energy and good thoughts Saturday night at 10 pm ET as we start our Wine and Dine Half Marathon!!!!

See ya!!!

Johnna, thanks for the heads up on the Trolley. I think with the age of the girls we are just going to check out the near port areas and head back to the boat for some less-crowded family time!

So sorry to leave so soon, but for basically the same price we could have a SPH room on a 7-night mediterranean cruise! So we are switching to one in July.

Have a wonderful time on the cruise, everyone! :goodvibes

So just booked over the weekend! Convinced the husband if it was no universal and a cruise he wants then we need to go disney! Got a bad price I think as KSF was already gone:snooty: Oh well atleast I am going. I have the inside room 11 a GTY.

Thanks Rani and Donna:)

We are taking advantage of the Kids Sail Free program and got a CAT 5, so pretty happy :cool1:. now I am just waiting until some good fares come out :surfweb:..i look almost almost everyday. I still have to book a hotel at Port canaveral for the night before, and book a rental car..hoping to do that this week sometime...
Looking forward:banana:

Wow our 1st cruise too and I will have a 7 and 10 year old daughter in tow. Not to mention it took 2 weeks to convince husband, so we lost any KSF deals and staying in a 11a GTY:thumbsup2

Jessica! Wow! How exciting..it would be great for our girls to meet as they will be the same age! I guess we were on the same boat in getting our husbands convinced :) hahha...but i think he is getting excited...looking forward to a great cruise!

Is there any way to make the time now??? We could SO use this now.

I am so for that! We booked this cruise because our WDW/Harry Potter plans were canceled in November. All I keep thinking about is we could of been on vacation in a month. However, we are really looking forward to going back on the Magic.

And I just got an e-mail today about thinking about booking excursions. That always make me think the date is getting closer.

I'm enjoying watching my ticker move, but it seems SO slow sometimes. I'm glad that at this point we have the holidays coming up. We pulled out our fall decorations, and are planning our Thanksgiving vacation. I know the next couple of months will fly and after New Years, it will be just two months until we sail!

I think this first trip, we will just hang out near port instead of doing excursions. We can take port days to explore the ship more and become familiar with it.

It has finally cooled off here in TN, but it is still crazy dry.

We pretty much stayed on the boat in Cozumel last year. We did get off after the rush and walked a bit near port but then re-boarded. The boys had a great afternoon playing in the pool and we watched UP at the theater. It was a wonderful relaxing day! I highly recommend playing on the boat on a port day.

My sister lives in TN, we are originally from MI. She has been glad to see the heat go this year.

We're back from the World! Had a great time and fantastic weather!

Highlights were running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon with my daughter, taking my nephew and girlfriend to MNSSHP on their first ever visit to WDW, and spending time with Russell hanging out at the pool and going out to dinner!!!!

I beat my time goal in the half and so did my daughter. Now I'm looking forward to training with Russell for the half-marathon in January and of course, our MAGICAL cruise in March!!!!!

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWCOMERS!!!!!!

"Auntie D & Uncle Russ; we need......":rotfl2:

Hello to everyone. Seems as if we have been a little MIA.... I think we should choose a date and time to hit the chat room. TTYallL; I am on call for the babies so have to go get this call...:goodvibes
